Clydes's is where the "Home Folks" eat!

A time-honored tradition in the Western North Carolina area. The menu is very southern and this place has been a favorite of locals for years.

We went here anticipating fresh local vegetables only to discover it is a typical family style restaurant with canned goods. The cooks did a good job of flavoring but it could be so much better with fresh produce. Clyde's is very popular and is almost always full.

We have just eaten at Clyde's and were impressed by the warm welcome and the standard of waitressing. We had the pork and the beef meals with a choice of roll or cornbread and three vegetables from an extensive list. The portions were generous and the food was cooked to perfection. This is an unpretentious restaurant yet they can teach... More

Home cooking and local folks eat here. We enjoyed it and food was great. Our server made sure we had a pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend the meat loaf and mashed potatoes. Loved the mac and cheese too.

Clyde's is part of west Waynesville history as a cozy, down-home place to get good food for a good price, whether you worked at the old Dayco factory or you were done shopping at Walmart or Belk across the street (which replace the factory). The parking lot is always full, service inside is fast (find your own table; no hostess)... More

Good down home cooking - we always make a point of eating breakfast here at least once every trip here. Don't even think about your diet!

Just like the title says. Nothing upscale here. The food is nothing special...that doesn't mean it isn't good, solid, home style food at good prices. Staff is down to earth. Prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for a solid meal at a decent price with modest ambience, this is your place. Where the home folks eat...that's the truth.

Your everyday local attended restaurant well located since Walmart Plaza moved across the street. Good variety selection. Average quality. Convenient when shopping. Ken

Lukewarm food. All of it. Am very sure some of the sides were Sysco delivered and that my food sat in a warmer waiting for someone to order it. Sorry it was me. I'm a local, too. Hopefully this was a one time thing, but I'll never find out.

Great veggies. Pies are wonderful. I am sure other items are wonderful but I stick with my favorites. Prices are reasonable and service is great. Family friendly. Get there early on a Friday or Saturday night.
