I think there are two kinds of travelers when it comes to food. One goes to the tried and true, satisfied to venture no further than their expectations. For them, chains and franchises are de rigeur. The other will try new things, willing to succumb to the spirit of culinary adventure. Are those who fall into the first category bad?... More

Tucked on Main St. Look closely or you'll miss it. All fresh and simple ingredients. We stumbled across on Sunday morning--nothing else open. A pleasant surprise offering a small menu of breakfast and lunch. Will be back.

We were up visiting friends in Waynesville and looking for a breakfast place on Sunday morning. It was early and we were the only car on the street. We spotted their open sign and ventured in. We are always skeptical about eating somewhere when there are no other customers. Turns out we were just early eaters. The food was top... More

Four adults and two children went for Sunday brunch and found the service and quality above average. This isn't a manufactured or fast food place but an honest restaurant (albeit short staffed) which seems to care about what they offer their customers. It is what it is and should not be compared to Sweet Onion or Huddle House.

Went for Sunday brunch and was on a time crunch. Saw there wasn't many people there so decided to give it a try. There were only three other tables full when we arrived but it took 5 min for anyone to come get our drink order. My sons wife explained we were in a hurry and asked once we order... More

Sorry you felt it took too long to receive your food. As we seat tables we make sure to tell them if we have seated more than 1 at a time. When you were seated at 11:20 am you were told that the server had 3 tables before she would come to yours. Since it was taking longer than we... More

We ate here recently on the suggestion of friends who highly recommended the tomatoe pie. My wife order that and enjoyed it and the fresh salad that came with it. She did say that the tomatoe pie, while good, could have used a little more of a kick in flavor. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and the homemade fries... More

I stopped in with my mom for lunch on 8/27. We both enjoyed the lentil soup and BLT. The food was delicious. Nora was a delight to converse with. The food did seem a little overpriced for the portions. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Waynesville and quite a few focus on using fresh, local ingredients, so I'm not... More

I've reviewed previously, and while in the area again thought I would give Cafe 50 another try. This time we brought some friends, and all of us left quite disappointed. The reason I gave it an average rating was due to the cleanliness of the restaurant, and friendliness of our server. Otherwise, would be below average. The concept is excellent... More
