Tried this place for lunch today based on reviews on Trip Advisor. Wonderful surprise! We ate on a second floor outside deck with a water view and a nice breeze. Great food and service.. We will definitely eat here again. They do not take credit or debit cards - only check or cash.

Most of the restaurant is open and looking out over the river. It is a friendly, fun place to go and we haven't had a bad meal in the many times we have been there. It is VERY casual and almost always crowded but no one seems bothered by it. You can meet old friends and new because everyone is... More

Excellent food and reasonable prices on food and spirits. Small so it can be tight conditions and parking is limited but worth it

A couple buddies and I headed up here at about 11 o'clock one day and ended up spending 4 hours straight here. The drinks just kept flowing and the scenery is just on point. Watching the boats is pretty cool at this spot. The bar food is actually pretty good. I highly recommend going with the mahi sandwich. Fresh seafood... More

This was schweet! After a hard day of fun, we retired to Backwater Jack's for awesome ambience and even better food. It is kind of like Jimmy Buffet meets a small town waterfront place for cooliios. You can look for your lost shaker of salt or have some excellent rum drinks whilst eating your cheeseburger at the heart of paradise.... More

Sweet potato fries and a mahi reuben were very good though hugely messy. Cut it up and enjoy. Good service for a laid back just off the water place. Go there for something reliable, pretty quick and to enjoy the weather. No frills but no slouch either.

Out for a drive, to get the in-laws out of the house, we stopped by for a late lunch (2:00 pm). Located on the outskirts "east" end of town, between the railroad tracks and a bridge, and just before Washington Park, we drove by it on the first go-round. We are glad that we came back and found it. Backwater... More

This is really a nice stop any time of the day. And the atmosphere is appropriate anytime for a casual drink or regular meal. It's across the street from the city park and a great view of the river. It's also a popular place for the locals to meet, especially in the evenings. Obviously, there are good drinks and good... More

My absolute favorite place to eat in Washington! Best atmosphere for a laid back afternoon. Across the street from the river so sit upstairs for the best views. Owners are super nice and inside and outside bar if that's your thing. Just make sure to bring cash or be ready to use the ATM (fees). If anyone asks me where... More
