Monthly meeting

We recently attended a meeting where we ate family style. The items served was BBQ, fried chicken, slaw, potatoes, Brunswick stew, corn sticks, hush puppies, and iced tea. The food was very good especially the good ole southern BBQ. The service left a little bit to desire.

Not bad...I'd go again but not a stand out. Cute pig ornaments all over. Oh, one thing that made me laugh...they serve ice cream and I ordered a sundae with marshmallow..I assumed the thick liquid topping. What I received was ice cream covered in mini marshmallows...who does that????

My coworker and I were headed back up Route 17 to Norfolk after some meetings in NC. We decided to stop for lunch and gas, and were faced with the same old fast food choices. As we exited the highway, my coworker said, "You know what this drive needs, without going way out of our way? A good old fashioned... More

My favorite BBQ in the area next to Skylight in Ayden. You walk up to the counter, order then sit at your table (long tables accommodating 8 or so each) with a buzzer then return to the counter to pick up your food. The BBQ is great, the chicken is also good as is the Brunswick stew. If you are... More

There food is really cooked from scratch and the service was wonderful. The amount of food we recieved was way more than what... More

I came to Washington for a week for business meetings. So far best food I have eaten in Washington is at Hog Heaven. Yes, they do close a little early during the week, but for the price and portion size you can not go wrong. I did try their competitors (Boss Hogs) and was very disappointed in the quality. Overall,... More

Has a good reputation in town, but not as good as it should be. Pork is OK but not great, tasted better pork in other places. Counter girl is indifferent at best. Seating is functional, but not attractive. Prices are fair based on what they deliver. Closes at 7pm, so late dinners are out!

With a name like Hog Heaven I would have expected to have abundant portions of tasty varieties of BBQ pork. As it turned out they had no pork at all. We were only offered NY Strip Steak or BBQ chicken. Although the collard greens were tasty, the chicken was dry. Overall Hog Heaven was a disappointing earthly experience.

Well it is reason enough to go. I did enjoy the vegetarians comment, must of thought it was salad heavan. I think you do have to enjoy pork to go there. The "fry bread" is interesting.
