Awesome eats!!

Stopped in on way home from DC. Incredible food in middle if nowhere it seemed. Crab dip was great. Had the seafood platter and spouse had the Boar burger. Great mix of the different meats. Wait staff was super nice. Hate I can't remember her name. If I lived closer, would be a frequent flyer.

We had lunch since the restaurant was located next to the hotel (Holiday Inn Express) where we were staying I loved the decor and there was so much room and space around the bar and seating areas. The menu had enough variety and my food selection was good.

We weren't sure what to expect when we chose Mad Boar for dinner. To our surprise, it was lovely! The inside was beautifully decorated. Our server was very friendly. The food was amazing! My husband liked the fried pickles to start. For dinner he chose the shrimp & scallop meal and I got the french dip with sweet potato. Both... More

We have been there with 4friends and the service given was poor! The waiter had no clue about the wine they offer! Brought Appetizer together with main course! We orderd a bottle of red wine- guess what- the wine was chilled- had about 38-42F A no go for that price! To the Management or to the owners! Either you hire... More

This resturant is next door to the Holiday Inn Express. It is nice, has good food, and friendly staff. Liked the fried Mt. Olive pickles and reuben sandwich. Institutional lemonade, but good.

We had heard mixed reviews from folks about this restaurant, so we had never visited (we live outside of Wilmington, NC). Met friends from Raleigh there for lunch. We all got different meals. No one could say a negative comment about the food, the staff, or the beautiful bar. Calimari was the best we have had; soup was better than... More

We have eaten here on the way to the beach several times. It is kind of odd to see this huge restaurant kind of in a place that appears to have a low population. It is dark inside, with lots of tables and booths. We usually have sandwiches, which are good, not great. Nice portions. The wine list is sparse.... More

The Mad Boar used to be a great place to eat. Their low country shrimp and grits and Murphy's Law pork tenderloin were my favorites. My last sample of those two plates, they were still great. However, their lunch menu left much to be desired. I was there with a group earlier this year for a business lunch and was... More

We were on a trip with an 8 hour drive - and just accidentally found this place when we got off the road to fill up. Gave it a try and glad we did. We both had their "blue plate specials" - shepherd's pie (very good) and baked chicken (quite tasty) and with the side dishes it was a lot... More
