Really Good Restaurant

The Mad Boar is a great place to eat - right off of I-40 on the way to and from the NC beaches. We like it so much, we drive an hour to meet friends of ours who drive up from Wilmington. We love the Sunday lunch - great salad bar and really good seafood selections. Throw in $3 Bloody... read more

My family and I stopped in for a quick meal the other night. I ordered the pasta primavera with alfredo sauce. It was very creamy and definitely was homemade. The portion size was not large. It was fine for me but if you're really hungry it probably will not fit the bill for you. Also, it was disappointing that there... More

This place is the best one in the area. We enjoyed a good dinner there. The children's menu is good, and the waitress paid attention to the kids, so they were happy. Relax and enjoy. We liked the She Crab soup. I tried the Big Chief -- a thick pork chop with an apple-pecan topping. Oddly sweet for my tastes,... More

Let me start with the positives. Nice place, nice decor, friendly helpful staff, great bar area, great salad bar. However, my wife and I both ordered ribeye steaks and they were subpar and disappointing, thin, dry and over cooked. I read another similar review on this site about the drunken Jack steak, which was a sirloin also being dry and... More

I liked the speed they sat, served and the checkout was quick. Wide selection of draft beers and they have a good selection of wine. Food was good and staff friendly.

We were looking for a place to have dinner on our second night in town, so we picked this spot based on its closeness to the golf course where I was working that weekend. The food was not bad (I was a fan of the fried pickles) and it was decent for the price.

Have eaten here a few times. Food was ok and the service was very good. Wish the dining room area had more tv's to watch sports games instead of the pub area. Overall was satisfied.

As soon as you open the door, you know this will be special. The interior is trimmed with dark wood, the walls are painted black and with all the lights on it reminded me of eating in a cave. As soon as I saw Shrimp & Grits on the menu, I knew what I wanted especially with fresh garlic and... More

Ten of us dropped in for lunch on a Saturday. The staff acted like it was something they had happen all the time and was no problem. They quickly set up tables so we could all sit together and the wait staff took care of us without any problems. The food was excellent and we all commented on the Old... More
