I stopped for lunch on my way back to Raleigh. I've always liked the environment at the Mad Boar and felt comfortable once again. The booth seemed a little worn out as I sat with the table being almost to my arm pits. The server had a little bit of an attitude and was brusk at best. The Club Sandwich... More

who would think that this would go together. but with the smoky bacon dressing, this meal was awesome. the flavors were so good & the smell was awesome. We eat in the pub since it was mothers day and we were coming home from South Carolina & stopped on a whim. so glad we stopped. If you get to Wallace... More

It was our waitresses last night working before heading to NY for a new career, so while she brought everything in a timely manner and it was tastey, it wasn't necessarily what we ordered. It had been such a long travel day that we just didn't care what we ate at that point. Fish & chips were excellent, chips are... More

The Mad Boar has two sides one is casual woth great food and service the food is the same type you would find at an Applebee's, or Ruby Tuesday. The other side of the restaurant is elegant a bit more pricey, but wonderful for a special occasion like anniversary or birthday. The ambiance is just wonderful. They also have a... More

This is by far the nicest restaurant in Wallace, excellent food, wine and spirits, appetizers served in generous portions.

We'd had a long drive and wanted a quiet stop for freshly prepared food. We were willing to pay more We declined bar seating- saying that it seemed noisy- asked for a booth if possible. We were seated in a very large booth in an area with two tables with noisy children. ( had we angered the hostess?). The kids... More

Nice place to eat, enjoyed dinner here on a Saturday evening. Feels private and cozy. Service could have been better, but was ok. Nice place to eat while in area but not worth a special trip. Try the fried pickles, they are amazing. Much better than the free pimento cheese style stuff they provide as a complementary appetizer.

We drove 90 minutes to meet people here and we should have just eaten at Bojangles across the street. The bar is nice but the sandwiches were less than ordinary. I sort of expect a club sandwich to have real turkey and ham, not tissue paper thin slices of tasteless grocery store lunch meat. I asked for extra mayo and... More

We were able to get last minute reservations for a large birthday party. We arrived early and waited in the Bar area. The Bar itself is beautiful and looks like something you would see in an authentic Irish Pub! The Bartender was a hoot! Loved her! Drinks were a bit pricey but appetizers were delicious! When seated at our table... More

I called ahead and made a reservation so that we could be sure to be seated near the live entertainment due to the fact that we were driving over an hour to the restaurant specifically for that. When we got to the Mad Boar I walked up to the hostess stand and was ignored completely by the hostess for a... More
