Excellent on-the-road lunch stop

We have passed this many times on our usual route to Wilmington, decided to give it a try. Obviously a lot of money went into building this, tons of wood everywhere. Service was quick and efficient. Between us we had the shrimp chowder/BLT combo and the Reuben with potato salad that definitely... read more

We have tried it several times. Order something and when it comes you find they have added their own "twist" to it. The last time we went they mixed sausage and hamburger together for meatloaf. Wasn't in the description as such. Tired of trying.

Salad bar was really good. The cheese spread and crackers were great as well. Really clean place to eat and prices were reasonable.

We needed to meet someone between Topsail and Raleigh and the Mad Boar was the only place I could think of. What a pleasant surprise. We walked into a beautiful restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was good and the prices were reasonable. We are meeting there again Sunday.

Food was decent and the rooms were nice. A little dark in the main restaurant. The bar area was nice and the rooms they had to rent for a party were nice as well.

Stopped here by chance. Easy on-off from I-40. The club sandwich was excellent. The salad bar was healthy, and the service was attentive and good. The restaurant is a little over the top in its decor, but that is kind of it charm

Stopped in after being on road for 5 hours for a quick bite. Our waitress, Alicia, was terrific. Had the prime rib sandwich, today's special. Nice and tender, potato chips needed a little flavor or salt. Hubby had pork tenderloin sandwich and said it was pretty good. Stopped in wine store on our way out. Definitely over priced. Spent $42.50... More

Went in to have a beer and was very impressed with the décor in the bar. I will definitely go back and try their menu. Only thing that was strange is that they are closed Monday and Tuesday!

My family and I stopped in for a quick meal the other night. I ordered the pasta primavera with alfredo sauce. It was very creamy and definitely was homemade. The portion size was not large. It was fine for me but if you're really hungry it probably will not fit the bill for you. Also, it was disappointing that there... More
