Ranked #1 of 7 Restaurants in Vanceboro
Price range: $3 - $9
Cuisines: Bakery
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Lunch
Description: We are a Mennonite-owned and run bakery and restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. We are well-known locally for our bread, cinnamon rolls and amazing 1-inch tall slices of French toast made with our home-made bread and served with our own butter syrup. We serve home-style foods like eggs, pancakes and biscuits for breakfast, with sandwiches, salads and a daily special for lunch. Saturday's are especially busy with long waits. Groups of over five diners can expect the longest wait. Due to our limited dining area we do not take reservations on Saturday. During the week there rarely is a wait. Hope to see you soon!

An unplanned day trip to eastern North Carolina resulted in a most welcome discovery in Vanceboro. Located equi-distance from Raleigh to the OBX, Yoder's Dutch Pantry is just fantastic. Breakfast selections were plentiful and delicious. Since the only egg dishes I like are either scrambled or omelettes, I am used to many restaurants that use liquid eggs. Palatable, but certainly... Great food for breakfast but if you go on a weekend or holiday be prepared to wait over an hour! The food is amazing!

My son's and I visited for an end of the school year treat. Absolutely loved our experience. We chose a Monday to visit due to the large crowds on Saturday. We had prompt service and our waitress was very friendly. My boys loved it and are already planning our next trip back and what they want to try.

This is our third time going to this restaurant. Great food and very family oriented! Had to continuously ask for drinks. Server barely came to table

My daughter and I ate here on Wednesday April 30th for her 13th birthday. We got there at 10:00 a.m.with absolutely no wait time. We both ordered french toast with maple syrup that only took a little while. They were prompt. French toast melts in your mouth. We will be back

I went there around ten for breakfast. It was busy but the food was excellent, the portions generous for the price and the staff was friendly. The waiting time to be seated was a little longer then preferred but once seated service was prompt. I'd give it a 4.9 star rating.

My wife and I ate lunch here on Saturday March 1, 2014. Their Saturday hours are from 7am -2pm, and they offer a full breakfast menu and limited lunch menu. I didn't note their weekday hours. We arrived shortly after 11:30 am and were seated just before 1 pm. We'd both heard many local, favorable reviews of the restaurant and... More

Thank you for your review. We appreciate our customers comments and continue to strive for quicker service without jeopardizing quality. Saturdays are busy and yes, the earlier the better! Thanks for your patience. Weekday hours are 7:30A-2:00P with breakfast until 11:00A. Along with our lunch menu are daily specials which vary daily. More

Arrived Saturday 9:30. Left at 11:35. Returned buzzer. Never got seated. We had 6 people-ahead of us I noticed they seated 2 groups of 5 who came after... I don't think any food can be good enough to justify 2 hour wait. If I'm you and you have to wait ore than an hour you should check in again ...... More

Thank you so much for your post. We do apologize greatly for your group not being able to eat. A 2 hour wait is very typical on Saturday, especially for a group of 6, since we only have a couple seating options for groups over 4 or 5 . At this time we are working on expanding the dining room... More

Our family enjoyed the "family style" atmosphere of your restaurant when we ate there several years ago. I heard you had moved, and I'd really like to know if your place of business is still in the Grifton area -- or are you in Vanceboro? Did you ever have a place in New Bern?

Yoder's is a big general store with an unbelievable assortment of cool things... everything from cast iron cookware to plumbing supplies and hand-crafted furniture (and tons more stuff). There's also a bakery and cafe, both of which feature items made in-house. The staff (who seem to mostly be related to one another) is terrific, there's a talking parrot overseeing the... More
