We were staying in Foscoe recently and needed a place to grab a late lunch before shopping in Valle Crucis, so we stopped into this market. We had eaten at the Farmhouse in Valle Crucis two summers ago and were not highly impressed, but were hoping the food had improved a bit over what we'd eaten before. We found the... More

My sandwich was very good-everything fresh. It's a beautiful drive but make sure you you the restroom before you head up the mountain. We drove an hour to get there and when I asked where theirs was, the woman told me "There is a gas station in Boone, ten minutes away!"

Great place to stop to grab a sandwich when up near Grandfather Mountain and Blue Ridge Pwky. There isn't a place to sitdown inside, but stop in anyway and go sit in your vehicle to eat or take them with you for a picnic lunch.

After being told they were out of food at the Farmhouse and Winery they told us to try here. The sandwiches are very good but pricey, 8.95 just for the sandwich. It would have been nice to have somewhere to set down to eat.

Thank you; we are glad you enjoyed your sandwiches. We are sorry that we are unable to provide tables or a public restroom. That is not our decision but the Watauga County Health Department's policy, due to the fact that our very old septic system is small, and there is no where to go to expand it since we are... More

My wife and I visited on Labor day weekend, and each selected a deli item. Best sandwhich I have ever had, and that is a lot. The service was great, as was the food. The price is steep, however, the product is worth it. Parking is tough, go to the end to find a spot. There is no seating at... More

There is a wide variety of sandwiches available, including BBQ -- I had the fruit side, which didn't seem to be fresh, and was in a syrup...the sandwich was good, and you get the chance to 'personalize' your sandwich with type of bread, condiments, etc. I did request 'no tomato', but it came with it anyway...so might want to just... Nice place to stop and get a very good sandwich, pick up a gift or two and enjoy sitting outside on the Watauga River.

The sandwiches are very good but it costs way too much. We had two sandwiches and two drinks. Grand total $22. I also dont care for the fact that there appears to be no public restroom or anywhere to wash your hands.

Sandwiches at The 1861 Farmhouse Market are served on artisan bread that is baked fresh every morning. Every sandwich is made to order - completely custom. Every ingredient, down to the condiments, is of the absolute highest quality, and we are very particular about which local vendors we use to keep our standards high. We are not Subway. We are... We did our Mast General store visit and noticed the beautiful farmhouse practically across the street that mentioned a winery and restaurant. We decided to do the wine tasting for $7 that includes a souvenir wine glass. The section of farmhouse that holds the tasting room was all original brick and nicely decorated for dining guests. So, we decided to... More
