Great BBQ!!!

We went to Shindig on the Green in Asheville and Okie Dokies Smokehouse had a food truck there. I was the best BBQ! I had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw and the BBQ sauce was so good! We went to Okie Dokies on the advice of a ranger in the Blue Ridge Pkwy Visitor Center, and we loved it. Our waitress (we think her name is Geri) was great, answering with our ignorant yankee questions and allowing us to sample the hush puppies (we didn't know what they were) and cheesy grits. We had pulled pork, bbq... More

For two of us, we got two of their "little combo plates" each with two meats. There was plenty left for another meal. Fried pickles were crunchy and nice, and the vinegar sauce adds a nice tang to the meats. The pulled pork and beef bbq were so flavorful. They were out of smoked turkey, so we chose smoked chicken... We ate at the outpost located near Candler - only option was port bbq. We had a couple of sandwiches with slaw on top and tea. Sauce was nice. All in all, good NC style BBQ but not better than I can get at home in eastern NC. Would like to try the main location where people brag about variety.

This is your standard excellent Carolina barbecue restaurant. Great barbecue with excellent sides. The sweet tea is as good as you'll get anywhere. The service was never less than amazing. Sitting out on the deck was nice, if not scenic. Get the jalapeno hush puppies. You won't regret it.

We were coming home from Asheville and stopped in at Okie Dokie's. Food is off the hook. I had the smoked wings with a side of jalapeno hushpuppies. Probably the best wings I have ever eaten, and I make them all the time. Daughter had a baked potato coverd in pulled pork. Other daughter had ribs and wife had chicken... More

Meat tender and tasty but the bun was soggy and just didn't compliment the meat. A toasted and denser bun would have made a big difference.

This place has some of the best BBQ ribs I have ever eaten. They are meaty and perfectly smoked. My husband and I first had them last summer at their food truck parked at Shindig on the Green. We like them so well that we stopped at their restaurant in Swannanoa to get ribs to take home. Also, the service... More

A lunch special consisting of a BBQ pork sandwich, baked beans and an iced tea cost over $10 and wasn't worth half that amount. The pork was bland and cooked to an almost mushy texture and the beans were no better than a can of Campbells. When you want good Carolina BBQ don't look here.

Loved this place! The waitress was personable and helpful. Food was delicious- generous portions. Tender ribs, juicy pulled pork (not dry, I mean). Yummy corn bread and sides. Nothing fancy here- but who wants fancy when you're eating BBQ?? We liked this place so much, we bought t-shirts!
