We were visiting Asheville and Okie Dokies was recommended. Husband wasn't sure but went for me. We are so glad we came. We had the pulled pork and turkey. Both were flavorful and juicy, no sauce needed. Service was great. I loved the hush-puppies. I wanted to try everything on the menu. When we return to Asheville, we will return... More

After reading the review in the Scene, we had to try this piece of NC BBQ heaven. My wife ordered a Diet Coke and I ordered a sweet tea. I thought the sweet tea was perfectly sweet and perfect for the meal. We also ordered the fried pickles with the Ranch dressing they're famous for. We then ordered a 1/4... More

One of the best BBQ I have ever had! The lunch plate was huge! I'm really picky about coleslaw, but I loved their's! Baked beans awesome, too. AND their sweet tea was a little too sweet for my taste. That was no big deal for a waitress Liz. She was more than on top of it! She kept my cup... More

Visiting this area and not knowing where to eat - we lucked out here. Had the chicken bites which were lightly deep fried as well as the hush puppies. Hubbie had the ribs - very tender and jalopena hush puppies. Good value. Friendly wait staff and satisfied customers. Great sauces especially the ranch sauce.

I had been on my motorcycle for a couple of days, up and around Western NC, but had yet to have some BBQ. Saw this place as I was heading toward the Blue Ridge Parkway, and gave it a try. Excellent BBQ. Meat didn't need a drop of sauce, it was very flavorful. I had a BBQ salad, and it... More

We've tried several BBQ restaurants in Asheville and this is the only one we come back to. It's just a very simple building, nothing fancy but that's just fine because the BBQ is great. The BBQ sundae is the perfect amount of pulled pork, beans and slaw for a small appetite. There are plenty of big meals for those more... More

We were hesitant to try this place because we are big BBQ critics. I am glad we did. The food was great. Between all members of my family we tried a little of everything. We were definitely not disappointed. The wings and turkey were great and my 7yr old cleaned her plate. You have to try this place.

Anytime we are in the Black Mountain / Asheville area we make sure we dine at Okie Dokies. The brunswick stew is thick with chicken and no potatoes. The tossed salad topped with chicken has a generous portion of tasty smoked chicken. We also recommend the beef BBQ. Food is served pipping hot.

Okie Dokies drew us in with the smoker out near the road which wafts wonderful scents in the neighborhood, making it almost irresistible. This is the best BBQ around with friendly staff and a sense of humor to boot. Yes, they bill themselves as "Swannanoa Swine Dining!" The red wagon lunch plate is terrific and a bargain but our favorite... More
