My husband and I love the Mainsail -- very nice people, good service and decent food, especially for this island community The soups are excellent and the specials are usually good. Not much for ambiance, but the location is convenient for both New Topsail folks and North Topsail folks, especially when it's winter and lots of other places are shuttered... More

This is a wonderful restaurant to enjoy a quality meal. It doesn't have a view or a posh interior. It does have easy parking, reasonable prices and a good selection of foods. I enjoyed my meal from beginning to end. The crab stuffed flounder is excellent. I would recommend it to any seafood lover.

Six or us went to Mailsail on a Saturday night, and although two of us had enjoyed it before, it was better yet. Everybody was more than pleased, with the crab stuffed flounder and the seared tuna with a wonderful sauce getting special reviews.

We had a good meal at Mainsail. The menu is decent and prices are about normal. The service was very good and we felt well attended to... They have a decent wine list though not extensive. We make Mainsail a weekly stop on our visit to Surf City, NC.

The food was incredible! One of our favorite restaurants on the island. The crab chowder was excellent! A few people at our table ordered it and after sharing, more people in our party added it to their order. The mahi mahi was wonderful. The stuffed flounder was amazing. I had the special NY strip with mango salsa and crab cake.... More

House salad was weak and relatively small. A couple of us had the Crab Stuffed Flounder and agreed that it was great. We had three grandsons with us (10, 8, 6). The two youngest ordered off the kids menu. They loved what they ordered (one had chicken strips, the other had flounder) the generally don't finish, but the sucked it... More

Had no real expection except something better than a McDonalds experience and was still let down... The final insult, (as the waitress put it) was her courteously adding a large party gratuity for our convenience.. To a family of 5 with 3 children under the age of 10!!! Wow!!!! We waited about 35 minutes for something to hit the table...... More

appetizer-oysters Rockefeller-to die for-best we have had anywhere, soup-shrimp bisque-awesome with chunks of shrimp-great find, Dinner-shrimp and mussels over linguini with marinara sauce-just ok-not worth saving and reheating even, fried shrimp & scallops were supposed to be fried and they were barely coated with breading and not good at all. The bread and butter served with the meal was excellent.... More

Twenty seven of us went to this restaurant. They welcomed us with open arms. Excellent food and service. Super attentive service. Everyone in our group loved their food. Even their bread is fantastic! We had crab legs at other places in the area, but these were the best. We liked their food and service so much, that we came back... More

Very good food, especially appetizers. Great for large parties. Really good service. Menu items we enjoyed most were the stuffed mushrooms, crab legs, crab cakes and mozzarella sticks.
