We went for breakfast on that dreaded last day of vacation. I had track Batsons down on Trip Advisor. They were short of help in the kitchen and so food was slow. However, the server was great and the food, once it arrived was worth the wait. My omelet was like home cooking. Gotta believe the speed of cooking problem... More

Recommended to us by a local. Overpriced and dirty. Found hair in my cheeseburger. Would not suggest to anyone

$4.49 for bowl of can clam chowder that cost $1.50 @walmart. If want broiled seafood instead of fried cost $1 more. When asked how prepare broiled vs fried, not much difference just spinkle little ole bay on it then microwave, everything either fried or microwaved (per cook). Mashed potatoes were instant, still had flakes in it. This meal which ended... More

We have been to Batson's twice before and enjoyed it. This was different. The flounder was tough, the scallops had some sort of shell in it and my wife's crab cakes were from the frozen food section of a grocery store. I hope they can improve. Maybe we will give them another try.....I have heard they have a good breakfast.

Opens at 6:30 am, if you're trying to get an early start to your day. Great vegetable omelette and coffee. My son had delicious chocolate chip pancakes and they managed to have crisp buttery edges which is almost impossible to find. Our waitress "expressed" our order in because we were really hungry and served us with warmth and charm. Affordable... More

Food here is really good and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and attentive. Wouldnt visit Surf City without eating here a couple times.

We tried this restaurant for brunch. I had breakfast and my husband had a sandwich. The blueberry pancake was OK, but nothing special. My husband had a sandwich that looked like something you would put together in your own kitchen - no frills. The service was good and I would probably go back again. I love country cooking, but I... Our group of 6 had breakfast here a couple of weeks ago. We all agreed that the food was good, service attentive but not obtrusive, and of course the prices were right. Menu was good basic southern breakfast items, i.e. eggs, meats, potatoes, grits, pancakes, French toast. We've also been here several times previously for dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed it... More

Scallops looked and tasted like imitation, soft shells were mushy and tasteless, I suspect previously frozen. Veggies were like school cafeteria. The clam chowder had grease floating on top. One good point... the hush puppies. BTW, whoever heard of no fresh lemon at a seafood place???
