Great food, pricey

We took my mom to dinner at the Bistro and had a very good dinner. I appreciated that everything is locally sourced and as non-GMO as possible. (They list their suppliers on a large chalkboard in the seating area). Our waitress was very good and knowledgeable about all of the dishes served, and... read more

Voted the best restaurant for three straight years, and now moving to a new location where you can overlook the water and a much bigger dining room. Entrees are extremely well done, creative and many outstanding selections in fresh seafood, pasta, pasta, steak and Bourbon & Burgers plus much more. Their Shrimp and Grits has been voted best in the... More

Great place, local foods, good ambiance. You definitely need a reservation. The wife and I popped in on a whim and didn't have one. After about 15 minutes we got a seat at the bar and had a great meal. Very nice bartender/server. The food was very fresh, local, cooked perfectly and with great flavors. Definitely will stop in here... More

Made reservations for next night before we left the first night. Enough Said...but a review demands a bit more. If you like crab dip, this one is amazing. Salads so fresh and combinations artful and delicious. Never would have thought a Portobello Mushroom entree would rise to the level of deserving such a high price but I will order it... More

Hard to understand why some found a way to dis this establishment for 1) not having a great view - that should be obvious before you park your car or 2) being overpriced - get a grip on reality.....the pricing was appropriate for island resort locale. In fact, the food and service at dinner were particularly excellent. Fresh local fish... More

Reservations are a must. Fresh food, locally grown, great bar, great atmosphere. The menu changes on a regular basis according to what is fresh and local. This is gourmet food with out being stuffy . Dinner here is a must, don't miss it.

Excellent dinner, good service, bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. I live in hardest on, SC where we have 100's of restaurants, and this was as good as any of them! Kudos

We had dinner there last week and had to wait for a table so 3 of us went to what they call a bar. We had a beer, vodka and a margarita. The price was $26 dollars. I thought we bought a share in the place. There was a party of 8 and they had a poor selection on the... More

Dinner experience just average. Beautiful presentation of food but three out of four meals less than impressive? Crab dip okay, bruschetta bread stated home baked bread which was hard as if it might have been microwaved. Steaks mediocre, very chewy steak but cooked to specification. Unable to eat the ribeye sandwich as it was mostly fat and gristle. Seafood trio... More

I visit Topsail Island every year with a group of retired educators; The Bistro is always our number one choice for beautifully prepared seafood and other NC specialties. We have never been disappointed! I recently enjoyed the seafood trio--grilled swordfish, shrimp, and scallops over risotto-and I enjoyed every bit! The other 7 women in my party made different choices and... More
