My husband and I have eaten at this establishment on numerous occasions. The food is okay, not outstanding. We often have to wait for a server once seated, and even longer for drinks and refills throughout the meal (this has occurred during the peak season and off season). Speed is not the name of the game. Usually the servers are... More

I spent almost $70 for four dinners and should have known better. The service was fine, the food just isn't great. If you're getting some fried shrimp I'm sure it pretty decent, if not stay away.

Good size restaurant between Shallotte and Holden Beach (not in Supply). Food was pretty good but nothing really outstanding. They did have a traditional fried seafood menu with other choices for non seafood lovers.

We have gone to the Barn for dinner while at Holden Beach for many years. This year the quality was down a bit. We got there at what was supposed to be opening time but they were late opening the doors. There were not a lot of folks there at opening and we were seated at once. The hush puppies... More

Heading to the Seafood Barn is a tradition, but this year, it was at less than its best. Deviled crab had lots of bread stuffing. Decor is folksy with some folk art-type objects--interesting look. Limited parking on busy nights. Staff was able to honor our request to sit downstairs.

Good ole seafood place. Not fancy, slow service and slow kitchen.

We vacation every year at Holden beach and usually eat here at least once or twice each year but over the last few years the food has declined with each visit. Our party of 8 ate there yesterday and it will be out last visit. We ordered a steam pot and it was so salty we couldn't even eat it.... More

My overall experience was horrible. At first we had to wait 20 mins to even get acknowledged and get taken our drink order. Our waitress walked by us multiple times and didnt apologize at all and wad rude. We were treated poorly and slow. After being sat at our table, our order was not taken for 45mins. The food came... We have a house at Holden and come here quite a lot...so needless to say we frequent the local restaurants several times a month. The Seafood Barn is really quite good. There's always a crowd and there is certainly a reason why. My favorite dish is their shrimp and grits. The fried seafood is good too. It offers a comfortable,... More

We have been visiting Holden Beach for years, and my in-laws always go to this restaurant. The main reason is because my father-in-law can get a hamburger while everyone else eats seafood. There is a lot of fried seafood on the menu, which I don't like, so I get the steamed shrimp. Usually, I can eat steamed shrimp without any... More
