Local's Hangout, Where Visitors Are Welcome Too

The folks at the motel we were staying at recommended this place, and I had real second thoughts when I found it in a strip mall whose anchor store was closed. However, inside the door, we were welcomed and the food was great. We split an order of ribs and were pleased with the "St. Louis" sauce... read more

I thought the bartender was both unfriendly and under qualified. She brought an old fashioned and didn't know it had rye in it.....hers had seagrams seven. Some big dude came out of the kitchen "explained" to me they had been in business for a long time.... not sure why he told me this or why they are still in business.... More

This restaurant is a Statesville Legend. They have been around for over 30 years and the menu is absolutely wonderful. The best ribs, pork tenderloin, chicken salad, burgers, steaks...everything! Wonderful staff and the owners are gems. Such a beautiful and unique spot. A definite spot when in the area

My wife and I had a hetic day in Charlotte, and since we live in the Stateville area we decided to have dinner on the way home. I suggested Gluttons due to some of the positive reviews on this site. Let me first say the staff was very friendly..that's all of the positive part of my review. The place is... More

We spent the night in Statesville, NC on our way to Philly and spotted this place on our map and decided to give it a try. First it was a little tricky to find, it was in the shopping center where the old JR cigar outlet use to be. The place was opened in the 80's and looked like it... More

Took the family here after reading the reviews. It had a very unique ambiance. We ordered 2 appetizers along with our meals. The total for 4 people was $70. Very reasonably priced. The ranch and bleu cheese dressing were both homemade. I also had the onion soup with my meal. Our food was served piping hot and very timely. The... More

Gluttons was recommended to us for a late meal after we checked into our Hotel while passing through Statesville. It is clearly a favorite with the locals, and we had a great meal with good service at a reasonable cost. We had a difficult time finding the restaurant, even with our GPS working, but we finally asked a local and... More

Great dinner surrounded by the amazing art of Michael Walsh. A must see for anyone visiting the Statesville area. Dinner was great and service was excellent. Art pieces created by Michael Walsh and stained glasswork by his sister are featured throughout this unique restaurant. Thank you Melanie for sharing your family's story and art!!

Had the special (St. Patrick's Day) corned beef sandwich. It was very tasty and the soup was delicious. This was my first visit I will definitely be coming back to try the everyday menu item The Big Bruisher corned beef sandwich. They had corned beef and cabbage special w/cornbread too, always next time. I have heard many others rave about... More
