Definitely worth it!

This lovely little restaurant in the beautiful North Carolina mountains is an absolute find! We wanted to try everything on the menu. Everything we did try was sumptuous--certainly not expected in this off the beaten track location. You will not be disappointed!!!

I'm confused by some of the poor reviews I read about Knife & Fork, because I was very impressed, and I don't think that I impress easily when it comes to food. I've done most of the sourcing and cooking for my family for 20+ years, and so far no one has been hospitalized or suffered permanent damage (at least... More

My friends took me to Knife and Fork on a recent trip to the mountains. One of my friends had been there previously and raved about her experience. I had lunch which consisted of a bowl of soup and a side of vegetables as I really wasn't very hungry. ( I had been eating unhealthy car trip food the previous... More

Knife and fork never disappoints, the house made ingredients are always fresh! The chef does a great job of creating new dishes to keep us coming back.

We are big fans of the farm to table concept; this restaurant definitely kicks it up with their creative offerings of local/seasonal fare. The decor is appropriately eclectic. But the service ruined our experience. We arrived just before 8pm on a Friday night to an almost empty restaurant. The young man who was hosting was not particularly friendly when we... More

The chef's use of fresh local ingredients and coupling of creative ingredients results in delicious dishes once again! Trout belly ceviche had a kick of spicy heat and was our favorite appetizer. The squash and beet appetizers were also great. The favorite entree was trout on carrot puree with, among other ingredients, fennel and peach. It was spectacular! The desserts... More

I ordered the most expensive item n on the Sunday menu, a $20 trout dish.It was covered in pesto, which drowned out the trout flavor. It was a small piece of undercooked fish that I had to return for further cooking. The green beans and blue potatoes beneath it were drenched in a fish sauce, making it like soup. My... More

This restaurant was highly recommended to us. It was highly disappointing. Our waitress described the soup au pistou as a puree. It was not. It was greasy boring vegetable soup. My trout was bland, served in a broth with vegetables that were raw. The flat iron steak was requested to be medium rare and it was rare. On the very... More

Great little restaurant in Spruce Pine, NC. Located on the lower level in town. All natural food. Very interesting - probably some you have never tasted! Spruce Pine is a neat little town just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Knife & Fork is just another reason to go to Spruce Pine, or Little Switzerland, NC. Simply stated, the food is extraordinary.. Chef Nathan is adamant about using all locally grown or raised food. This includes the trout... The Rabbit and of course the Chicken and Pork dishes. All the work just makes for a fabulous dinner. Friendly and knowledgeable... More
