Becca, the owner of this coffee shop, is now serving soup and sandwiches. However, that term does not nearly describe the delicious food prepared by this chef. I had lunch with six friends there recently, and everyone raved about their food.

Charming, warm, clean, and offers a variety of other local wares and farmers market items for sale as well. Shop even offers a selection of wines as well. The owner makes all the desserts and baked good from scratch and it's clear she excelled at culinary school. This place knows how to make excellent coffee and sources the best beans... More

Always good, never disappointed! You will find good coffee, made to your specific needs and excellent baked goods. Great variety and quality in the sweets . . And the bread is most, most excellent!

Backwoods Bean Coffee Shop now has a new owner who has increased the square footage and added little pastries. The atmosphere is very country and internet is available, Good place to meet tourists as well as local people. My daughter enjoys the coffee shop when she is visiting. The baked goods at the cafe are amazing- from the biscotti to the muffins. Becca, the owner, bakes all her own pastries and it is evident that she knows what she's doing!

After a recent bike trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway, we exited onto 18 South and almost literally "fell" into the magic of Backwoods Bean. We were greeted by Becca, the owner, whose hospitality, grace and creativity help explain the totally cool merging of an urban coffee shop "feel" with local, country charm. Along with Becca's warmth, we enjoyed that... More

Having been travelling around for almost three weeks, drinking motel coffee, we found this place in Sparta where we were staying for the night. At last, a proper coffee in a proper coffee shop. Shame it is about 3500 miles from home!!

We have been going to Backwoods Bean Coffee shop for quite a few years. It is now under new ownership and much larger. The decorum is country, the coffee and teas are very good. Country art is displayed and for sale. Internet is available for the travelers in need to check for news.

I stopped while in Sparta just because of the reviews here but I'd drive 2 hours back just for the coffee. Holy cow...amazing. Atmosphere was precious.

I'm sorry about your tea experience. We have moved to a new location and have more room at the bar, lots more space and yes more tea pots, we will still take the time to steep your tea which is between 3 to 5 minutes. That's why our shop is so special, because we do take the time to do... More
