This place made my 25th anniversary.

Where do I start? First we had a lovely salad with a great mix of salad greens. Then the entrees were off the hook. Tile fish with rice and artichokes was awesome. Scallops with risotto and sun-dried tomatos was to die for. A great meal that I would give 5 Stars.

We were a party of seven, including 3 couples and an 11 year old. The setting is very quaint; like dining at the home of a friend or family member. The menu is diverse, with many interesting choices that you won't find at other local restaurants. Nice cocktail choices, which I believe are changed seasonally, as is the menu. Now... More

We had a delicious meal at the Live Oak Cafe. I loved the option on some of the menu selections to get a half portion. Our waiter, Andrew, took excellent care of us. Thanks for a great dining experience.

Just a fabulous place. Small restaurant with three rooms, including screen porch, for dining. We dined on the porch overlooking a small garden. Shade trees overhang the porch. Only 3 tables here. Menu has variety of offerings. We chose baked scallops and Wahoo grilled with steamed vegetables. Both were cooked to perfection. Large selection of wines by the bottle. Very... More

Excellent food and atmosphere. Has been a favorite of ours for many years. This year was a little disappointed to see the menu changed to exclude scallops and seafood bakes. Have added pheasant and buffalo. Their scallops were awesome and the seafood bakes were delish. Said they took them off due to the costs. Mistake, in my humble opinion. Still,... More

Had a fabulous dinner at Live Oak. selections included the Duck Crepes for appetizers and the okra cheese and sausage. Dinner included the Bison, Trout and Paella. Wonderful presentation. Meals were great across the board! The best retardant in Southport. Quirky little place.

My wife and I ate at Live Oak Cafe last night. We both came away very impressed by not only the food, but the ambiance. Our waiter Andrew was fantastic, and very knowledgeable about the menu. My wife got a half portion of the seafood crepes, and it was still a healthy portion. I got their grouper special, which was... More

We just came back from an early dinner at this wonderful charming historic home. Andrew was our server and he was very gracious, attentive and helpful. We sat outside on the screened-in porch since it was early evening and beautiful outside. My husband and I started out with sharing the fried calamari--one of the best we have had and he... More
