Good food in historic location

The Pharmacy is just that, a restaurant located in the former town Pharmacy. The atmosphere is tables with easy chairs and a small bar decorated with many interesting artifacts. The food is very good. Always a special place to go with family and friends.

But we can't get there when they're open. They are super expensive but it looks nice. Call ahead...we've been there at least five times and it hasn't worked out.

It's pricey but worth it. We had unique crab cakes. Extremely good desserts, too. The service was excellent. It's great for a special night out.

We recently enjoyed a romantic dinner at the window table of the amazing restaurant. While walking around town earlier in the day, we were able to make a reservation for that table with a very friendly young lady named Madison. When we arrived for dinner, Madison greeted us with a big smile and ensured our evening was fantastic. Not only... More

We visited Southport 4 years ago and had a wonderful lunch at the Pharmacy. Recently we were back in town and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch again. The homemade soups and crab cakes were fantastic. The sandwiches were huge and delicious. My daughter loved the Asian dumplings. In addition to the regular menu, there were a large number of daily... More

I had visited Pharmacy once before at dinner and enjoyed their Bouillabaisse seafood stew. It is a pricey selection at $29.95 for a relatively small bowl. It's filled with fresh seafood including mussels, whitefish, clams, calamari, etc. I inquired about a smaller size, and the server volunteered saying that she'd be glad to ask the chef to fix a "lunch-size"... The pasta is handmade. Fish tacos are amazing. They have a huge wine selection. I had the key lime pie and it was wonderful. It's very pricey but everything is homemade so it's understandable. Will definitely visit again.

Had lunch on a brisk Saturday. At noon, the place was nearly empty but filled up quickly. Our waiter was patient, we stayed two hours, attentive with a great sense of humor. Their crab cakes are delicious and elegantly prepared in a puff pastry, served with mesclun greens and a tangy mustard sauce. My companion had the French onion soup... More

My friend and I went a while ago to catch up with each other. We had the worst service I have ever experienced. We were treated poorly at this "fancy" restaurant... I have a feeling because we were young high school students. It doesn't matter though, if I'm a customer I expect to be treated nicely because I did/do have... More

This is an upscale eatery that serves unique dishes that are delicious. We tried it for lunch and were not disappointed. A bit pricey but worth it if you crave something other than a plate steamed, broiled or fried seafood.
