I am in the process of experimenting with restaurants in this area since I will be relocating there very soon. We have stopped here about 5 times. I agree with other reviewers that the service is good but not fast. I think the reason is that the food is made from scratch based on the menu items that we have... More

We stopped here for lunch. It was great they serve breakfast all day. Some of us had breakfast. I had the crab Benedict. It was outstanding. We sat on the screened in porch, it was lovely. Our waitress was helpful with the menu item. It is a must. Very quaint.

My wife and I had "brunch" at Castaway Key yesterday (Tuesday 9-17-13). This was our last meal in Southport/Oak Island on an altogether TOO SHORT getaway. We arrived around 10:40 AM and it was not crowded inside, although a large group was arriving for the patio. That side has a separate entrance so we were almost unaware of them; I... More

We love to have breakfast here and do so frequently. The servers are all like family and they make everyone feel at home. You want the best cup of coffee in Southport? Look no further. It is a beautiful cuppa smooooooth. Prices are very inexpensive. Always a nice start to the day.

There is a nice selection on the menu and they offer all you can eat grouper bits for only $15.95 which could be good for dinner. We were there for lunch and the clam strips were not very good. The service was good but it did feel very hot in there, but sure if they have air conditioning or not.... More

We arrived Sunday, August11th, around dinner time and saw one other truck in front, no OPEN sign but ventured up anyway and the waitress explained that they were experimenting that night with dinner hours. We sat out back on the patio with smiling (new) SUE as our waitress who took our drink order and served us some HOT hushpuppies. The... More

This is a great little place to have breakfast. We've had the Western omelette, French toast, and pancakes - all were excellent. If you have diner, try the deviled crab sandwich - it is really one of the best that I have had. Right now they are closed Mondays and only serve diner Friday through Sunday so you may want... More

We went for breakfast on Sunday morning. It took us about 40 minutes to get our food. It was an adequate breakfast, good value but leave plenty of time.

We got there on a Sunday around 12:30, which was a mistake. It took forever . . . but the shrimp and grits (actually rolled into balls) was very, very good. We will go back again, just not the same time. Give them a try. My friend has been there as well and said the Grouper sandwich is excellent.
