Cute and romantic. A little different than most of the town's fare. Loved it and will definitely go back!
We've eaten at Ports of Call dozens of times and always enjoy the meal but I can say that this time we were actually wowed by the experience. Started the meal with seafood BLT which was very good. Our eastern European waiter was very helpful in our decision-making due to his knowledge of the menu. He could've sold me a... More
Went on the town tour from the visitors center. Enjoyed the tour, one of the restaurants he mentioned was the Ports of Call Bistro. After the tour we (four of us) decided to try it. To say we were not disappointed would be an understatement. The crab cake sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. Would recommend and... More
True Sunday brunch spots are hard to find, but Ports of Call fill the need beautifully. Offerings include a delicious stuffed French Toast that is among the best I've ever eaten as well as traditional egg dishes and, for the lunch bunch, crab cakes full of crab, NOT bread crumbs. All entries include their signature basket of warm muffins and... More
Appears as though they try to be extremely upscale (cucumbers in the water and high prices) but quite honestly I wasn't impressed. Went once for dinner and once for brunch and I would say the service and food are average at best. I think their biggest draw is they can say a scene from Safe Haven was filmed there.
The did not have any mascato wine on their list, also not really any vegetarian options for dining. We had a couple drinks and a skimpy app and chose to go somewhere else. They did have live music, nice atmosphere and a sign saying voted best Southport bistro, but much better food options in town for our taste.
We apologize if our vegertarian options on our menu did not satisfy your tastes. You are always welcome to ask to speak to someone from our kitchen to see if they can prepare something to your liking. We hope to see you again soon. More
Our party of four had a delightful dinner along with great conversation enabled by the artfully-spaced tables and beautiful bar set amid Mediterranean-decor. Don't let the "Bistro & Market" addition to the name fool you--Ports Of Call is a unique and welcome upscale addition to the comfort-food-loud-noise Southport restaurant scene with inspired dishes unlike anything else served locally. A big... More
Very good food, good prices and excellent service. We ordered only tapas/appetizers and they were all tasty! The honey drizzled corn cakes were a stand out. Our waitress was so sweet to us. She helped us pick out our choices and also advised on whether to get the large or small portion.
We wanted the perfect brunch to finish off a perfect trip to the beach in NC. We spied Ports of Call on our way through Southport and had to stop. Best decision EVER! Excellent, friendly service and exceptional, fresh food. A must try!
Pretty good food, reasonable prices, good service, decent decor, no view. Moderate to limited menu. Tends to feature Mediterranean food. Quiet, good for a date night. There are 4-5 restaurants I like better, but we go now and then.
