Had a half tuna melt sandwich that was over toasted, bread too thick and content so-so. Drinks were WAY overpriced -$12 for a small Black Russian. Lobster bisque was very good, though, and waitress was friendly. Docks appear short (ate only - didn't dock.)

Waited 15 minutes at hostess stand before being acknowledged. Older guy running around totally flustered. Took 3 trips trying to clean off a table then took our name down. We ordered a beer while we waited but never got it, he brought people that ordered drinks after us their drinks. When we asked him where our drinks were he said... More

It's in a great spot, and the claims and goals on the menu sound impressive--I was impressed by how many ingredients are prepared in-house. But with 5 entrees, only one was even acceptable (the reuben had good toppings, though they didn't have any corned beef that day. Everything else was lacking flavor, and the textures and proportions of ingredients were... More

I went with my family to this restaurant and the location and view are great. The disappointment was the food, we just ordered a couple of appetizers, and one of them was the spanakopita with crab. The crab was barely edible and was either from a can or frozen, either way it was bad. I would advise getting some drinks... More

Shrimp at the beach…how can that be a miss? And grits…in the South? Ditto. Description from the menu: fresh Creole Shrimp (which was THE only good thing) with hot Italian and smoked sausages and bacon sautéed in olive oil, garlic, shallots, sweet and hot peppers, and plum tomatoes served over creamy, cheesy stone ground grits. Sounds good doesn't it? As... More

I've never had a bad meal here. It is a great place for lunch. The restaurant has outdoor seating on a deck of the yacht basin. It is a great place to watch boaters and dolphins go by while enjoying your meal. I've had several meals at the Eatery, their Italian selections are very good as are their sandwiches, pizzas,... We visited Southport in October, 2013, and ate at the Yacht Basin twice for lunch. We loved it so much we were very much looking forward to it on our return to Southport this week. We were so disappointed! The crab cake sandwich was good . However one person in our party ordered the shrimp tacos (special). She doesn't like... More

I am sorry that you were unhappy with your experience at my restaurant. There are a few things that I am compelled to address. First, if the person in your party ordered the shrimp tacos "grilled" rather than "blackened" assuming that the blackening would be the only heat source in the dish, that is their error. Every one of my... More

Had a coupon for $10 off 2 entrees so thought we'd try it. BIG MISTAKE. They would not honor our coupon "it's only good on certain entrees". As we entered the restaurant 2 employees were standing at the entrance smoking. All employees were dressed as pirates and the pirate music was way too loud. When we asked after 30 minutes... More

Went for lunch and enjoyed dining on the waterfront. A pod of dolphins were swimming in the channel while we ate. Great view. There was only one server so the service was slow. The hostess took our drink order and brought our water and drinks. The sandwiches were very good and the portions were generous. The planks, seasoned fried potatoes,... More

The outdoor seating area has a fabulous view! As for the food I would not eat here again! The seafood platter was completely over cooked and tasteless except for the oysters. The fries were limp from being over saturated in grease! We left hungry and in search of something else to eat!
