The Good News or The Bad News First?

The Bad News First: This place is expensive! We paid dinner prices for lunch portions. The service was slow. It was funny, they told us we had an hour wait to be seated. We were seated in about 20 minutes...but they made up for it by taking over a half hour to serve us our food. They do not... read more

Took some out of town friends to eat here Friday evening around 8:00 pm for dinner and live music. There were 5 of us - 2 on one check and 3 on the other. The waiter was attentive and food was above average. My bill was $63 for 2. Our friend's bill (with 3 orders) was $80. The waiter did... More

Must have hit a great day as everything was great. I agree if you order fish and planks (fries) do the blackened. The fish was done just right and not over spiced and tasted great. Our fries were great, hot and crispy on the outside with good flavor. Crab cake was flavorful and mustard sauce added and did not distract.... More

My husband and I looked forward to eating at the restaurant for a while. I'm not a seafood eater and was surprised that steak was not on their menu. I ordered the Stromboli and was told they were out of pizza dough. This was 4pm on a Saturday afternoon Memorial Day weekend. Not very good planning on their part. We... More

This was probably the worst dining experience in my life. Our server was terrible. He seemed a lot overwhelmed. It took about an hour for our food, while the people seated after us had already finished eating. We asked the manager about this and he couldn't have been more rude. Most unprofessional person in the service industry I have ever... More

Never again. Food has gone downhill since we have been going to eat here whenever we travel to Southport. The waitress forgot about us and it took over an hour to get out food. Then she took my daughters $300 sunglasses when she thought we had left the premise. When we started asking about them she slipped into the back... More

Don't understand the negative reviews. We visited on a Thursday in May for lunch around 2pm and two of us got in right away. Larger parties were waiting for bigger tables. I had a grouper/chicken salad sandwich. Wife had a tuna steak on a bun. Both had ice teas. Price was $16.25 with tip. We were happy. Parking lot accommodated... More

For starters, we had a very nice waiter. However, it ended there. I love crab cakes and I left most of mine on the plate. I learned later, they are not made in house which more than likely means they came from Sysco or US Food. Sorry, that's not why I would choose to dine al fresco on the water....I... More

The best thing that I can say for The Yacht Basin Eatery is that the location is great. The Yacht Basin is a wonderful area to walk and see the sights. The sunsets here are great. The food... not so much. The menu appears to be much higher end than the actual result turns out to be. The first time... More

Came through the basin area looking for a bite and decided on yacht basin for their outdoor charm...it was lunchtime and we were sat at the corner table overlooking the water after being greeted by a friendly young lady....our server came shortly after, introduced herself with a smile and asked if we would care for anything....we ordered iced tea and...
