Look for the green and purple!

Fabulous southern cooking! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! The place is small and sometimes you have to wait, but it is well worth it! The décor is all green and purple; who knew there were so many accessories in those colors?!

Our OKI vacation would not be complete without a trip to Taylors. Southern comfort soul food for breakfast makes me so happy. Sausage and gravy biscuit. Sweet potato pancake or waffle. Bacon like it should be served. I want to go back for lunch and dinner.

I think this is one of the best kept secrets of Southport. They grow their own vegetables right out front... The staff is wonderful and they have an amazing variety of tastes that will keep you coming back for ... and wanting more! We go at least once a week. In the middle of Southport... when it's open it is... More

We stopped in based on a suggestion from a friend. He said "just look for the purple on the right" as you enter Southport on Howe St. So glad we followed his advice. My wife and I both had salads for lunch. She went with the classic fried chicken salad (and she usually won't eat fried food). She practically swooned... More

My family was visiting two weeks ago with a 3 month old and 2 year old so finding places to eat took on a whole new challenge! That is when I thought of Taylor's and was so excited that it was serving until 8pm. How refreshing it was to open up their menu and see reasonably priced meals that were... More

We read the reviews of this restaurant and knew we wanted to try it when we came to Southport. Everyone working there was very welcoming and friendly. You have to get the lemonade. It was amazing. I had the fried green tomato sandwich with bacon and goat cheese. Delicious! We also had the fried chicken and fried pork chop. Everything... More

The food and wait staff are both excellent at Taylor's. I was with a party of 8, and we took someone's advice to get there before Taylor's opened - which was great advice! There was a line already forming when we arrived at 8:55 a.m. We were impressed with the fact that staff asked us to wait a few minutes... More

wife and I visit Taylor's when on vacation each year. This visit was our fifth or six. We had breakfast here Sarurday July 25th and had sausage gravy biscuits and grits, both of which have been very good in the past. We both found the biscuits over cooked and burned on the bottoms. The gravy was tasty as usual but... More

The Taylor sisters have founded a local dinner style café with a dining experience as good as the food. With dishes like fried green string beans and green tomatoes along with "better than your grandma's" fried chicken will be remembered by your palate (and your waistline). Fun do have every once and a while. I usually have their salads which... More

Taylor's is one of those quaint, small-town diners you hope you'll happen into some day. Driving by you might not stop if you didn't know about them. The staff is personable and helpful. They treat you like an old friend. The food is good, especially breakfast which is why I go back. But, I've had a few lunches and the... More
