We got into Southern Pines a bit later than we wanted to and couldn't get to our first choice for dinner. The kids were all set on BBQ though and Dickey's was close and still serving. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was great and they took the time to explain the different dishes to everyone in our group. We... More

We enjoyed eating the local BBQ, but it seemed only average in taste. The BBQ sauce had a slight pepper heat which was fine. Over all average pork sandwiches, didn't try other offerings. The service is very fast, you order at the counter.

First time I ate at Dickey's was in RVA. Which was so good. This one fell short. The meat was mainly fat. So spending 10 on a plate of mainly fat was not my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, it tasted like it had been sitting there for days. It was gross. The sides were cold and the service... More

We've enjoyed Dickey's Barbecue Pit for many years now, often visiting their Cary location long before they opened a location in Southern Pines. After 10 visits to the S.P. location over the past y year or so we've begun to notice a gradual decline, ie no papertowels on tables, no butter on the rolls, dirty bathrooms, & general grouchy &unhappy... Though a chain everyone enjoyed the beef brisket as well as the familiar pork. I'd suggested talbertson's but their hours are local quirky, less convenient. my visitors were especially impressed when they were asked to wait while they made a fresh batch of vanilla cream puddings. From Atlanta, they are familiar with barbecues and enjoyed Dickey's

Pk , it's not the same Dicky from foggy Princeton days, but he would definitely like this place. Tasty food you can take out or eat in. Laid back and unassuming - and that's just fine!

This is the fast food version of BBQ. Food was pretty good, but weird that they pulled it out of the food warmer, wrapped in plastic. Free soft serve ice cream!

Running around in a time crunch, I needed to get something for dinner for my family before I headed home, but I did not want "fast food drive thru food" so I stopped by this place as I've heard good things about it. The place was very clean with quick and friendly service. The food was delicious and it satisfied... More

I have great things and not so great about Dickey's. When they first opened, it was affordable and you got large amounts of food. Not anymore. They reduced the size of the side cups and the meals are much more expensive. They do, though, have daily specials. But still, $2.00 for a iced tea is a bit much no matter... More

Stopped here for a quick bite, food was great, staff were very good and helpful, which was handy as I'm a BBQ learner. Tried pulled pork and texas style brisket, loved the hottest BBQ sauce.
