We have visited this restaurant several times for breakfast. The food is outstanding. The service is normally excellent, but we did have one visit when we did not have our coffee cups filled as we ate our meal. This was a one-time experience, so this is not a pattern, but rather an exception. I would highly recommend this place for... More

One of the best signs that the food is good is it's the place locals go to eat. The place was full. When you walk in the door you're immediately hit with a display case full of delicious-looking desserts. The sign on the wall said, "Life is short, eat dessert first." So, we saved room for dessert, a slice of... More

We eat here when we are in the area (Usually every November for Marcaroo!). This place is clean with great wait staff and menu. The food is fresh and excellent. We visited with a good friend of ours and 2 tweens. Everyone was happy! Two of us had the crab cake Benedict and it was one of the best we... More

As a local, I have visited the Purple Onion on numerous occasions for both breakfast and lunch and the food is consistently excellent! The menu has a good selection of tasty items at both lunch and breakfast. They have yummy bakery items also!

This place has a great breakfast and speedy service. They also have an excellent selection of baked goods, unfortunately we were too stuffed from breakfast to give them a try.

This restaurant is the best place to eat in Shallotte, I went for breakfast and enjoyed a great experience. Also went for lunch, I had a great pimento cheese sandwich. My sister and friend had the cheeseburger and they said it was terrific. Please give it a try... you will not be disappointed.

Good food, convenient location, good service. A little pricey. Loud dining experience though. We didn't get dessert, but they looked decadent!!!

We went after really looking forward to a great breakfast on Labor Day. It was early and empty but the waitresses seemed more focused on stocking cups and other items than seating us, waiting on us or serving us. We placed our order and waitress kept saying she was Asleep after she got order wrong and a few other mishaps.... More
