Good country cooking at a great value hidden down the road!

We have been here 4-5 times with family over the last 3 years. We generally go there when camping in the area. Never have had a bad meal there. The offer your standard country cooking fare with fried chicken, dumplings, fried fish, peas, corn, eastern style pork BBQ, salad bar, desserts...etc etc... read more

I ate here today for the first time! I was very impressed with the food items on the bar. There was fried chicken, fried flounder, shrimp, bbq ribs, chicken pastry, fat back, bbq, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, collards, field peas, turnip greens, corn, mashed potatoes, corn, rutabagas,Lima beams, green beans. Salad bar, biscuits, hushpuppies, chocolate, coconut, lemon, Japanese fruit... More

Wait staff and managers rude; food greasy; no atmosphere and seemed like throwing food into a feeding trough

We recently ate at Robbins Nest with a group of about 30 friends. We had a reservation and were seated in one of their private dining rooms. For the price of the food, we really enjoyed the variety on the buffet. Their sweet tea was delicious, and the drink pitchers were kept full for our convenience the entire time. I... More

I usually like buffets for the variety offered, but I was a bit disappointed the day I ate at Robbin's Nest. The "vegetables" offered were all high carbohydrate vegetables. I saw no collards, no cabbage, no green beans.......but there was plenty of potatoes, macaroni and cheese, etc. That's been probably a year ago and I haven't been back since.

Every time my family and I stop in Smithfield we always come here...The true southern hospitality is displayed here...always makes us feel at home and the food has never failed to be less than country cookin' at its finest....if you have a predisposition for a laid back atmosphere and exceptionally great food then make this your first stop!!!!

If you love comforter food, fresh veggies and fat back, then you will love this country buffet. They have something for everyone. The atmosphere is okay, the service is okay.

I was less than impressed. The buffet food was bland, greasy, and lacked freshness and taste. The macaroni and cheese was watery and without salt. The spaghetti was smothered in melted cheese and tasted processed. The catfish was good but with a batter that was over salted. The food in general reminded me of my old high school cafeteria with... While passing through Selma, we discovered this restaurant and are very glad we did. Their buffet was very good, with nice, fresh selections of meats, veggies, seafood, salad fixin's, desserts, etc. The wait staff was very efficient and friendly and contributed highly in making our visit one we enjoyed very much. We will definitely be stopping in again, when we're... More

Visit this restaurant often. Buffet style with plenty of home style vegetables, fried chicken, chicken pastry (dumplings for our friends from the north), pork bbq pulled and pull yourself. Home made deserts such as cake and banana pudding. Only problem here is unlimited visits to fill your plate, easy to over do it. Very modest price, convenient to I-95, motels... More
