Big city taste in little city setting

I have eaten at the Steele Pig several times since it opened. Never once disappointed with the food. I Have dined on crawfish to pork chops and loved it all. Seating is rather cramped and it is easy to hear your neighbors conversation. Staff is friendly from owner/chef to the bus... read more

The Steele Pig is way overpriced and the owner/chef is very rude. The food is just above average. I was very disappointed. You can go to much better restaurants and eat better food at a better price with nice owner and waiters.

Picked this restaurant because of the posted menu and wasn't disappointed. Some offerings were different but the shrimp and grits were the best I have had since being down here. My son is VERY particular about his steaks and absolutely loved his ribeye - done perfectly. The crawfish/sausage pot pie was a little disappointing because didn't list mushrooms as an... More

This restaurant has undergone some 'personality' changes in the last 10 years: Bella Bistro, Bella, now the Steele Pig. The menu has migrated from Italian-centric to Cosmopolitan to what is now a 'quasi-upscale' BBQ joint (think The Pit). Most of my favorites somehow cycled off the menu. so I'll tell you what they do well: The Shrimp -n- Grits! In... More

Advertises good southern food. If this is true, guess we don't like burnt southern food. Friend asked for sauce on the side and it was put on top of her veal cutlet. She had to send it back as she can not have sugar at all. A great location for theatre goers. Hope they get their act together. It was... More

I ordered the market price NY strip steak...it was $30. Grilled means burned here...and the meat was extremely fatty. The pulled pork was decent but no bun or bread, which made it seem lacking. This place barely qualifies as a BBQ restaurant. No ribs on the menu. The sides were great though. Actually the best part of the meal were... More

Great place in a great town. Fantastic burboun selection and cozy. Love the shrimp and grits and the place never disappoints.

Grossly overpriced for quality and/or quantity..did the top fall off the salt shaker? You would be wise to make a bread selection other than Texas Toast for a $14 sandwich. Perhaps the host and wait staff could find another place for extended chittychat rather than beside a patron's table.Truly SMALL portions for vegetable sides.

I recently went to a group party held on the 2nd floor. The dinner was served as a buffet. I sampled everything, naturally. The chicken was good but the shrimp & grits were awsome! The atmosphere was not quite what it could have been. Seating was inadequate in the lounge area and the bathroom (men's) had two different latches that... More

We ate here before attending a play at the Temple theater in Sanford. Several of us ordered the "Incredibly large pork chop" which is the name of this on the menu. Everyone raved about the pork chop. When they brought the pork chops out they looked as though the chef had burned them. Fortunately though, looks were deceiving. The chops... More
