This is our favorite restaurant in the area, and we go as often as is possible because the food is tasty, the service is great, and the prices are quite reasonable! Their pizzas, salads and soups cannot be topped for lunch; the dinner menu is equally good. The homemade breads and desserts are top-notch. It is a real treat and... More

Saluda is a very, very small town in the mountains of North Carolina with half a dozen GREAT places to eat and the Purple Onion offers the best environment. Great food from a menu that offers quite a variety combined with live entertainment - it's a must do when you visit.

The reviews I read were mixed on the Purple Onion but once we were seated, and greeted, I knew it would be a pleasant experience. We ordered pizza and it was excellent. Service was prompt and cordial.

We were quite pleased when our daughter suggested the Purple Onion after a day of hiking and sightseeing in the area. We got there a little before 5, so we browsed thru the various shops on the main street, and enjoyed thaqt as well. then, at 5 before 5, we stepped out and headed back to the PO, and were... More

if you don't know the factoid that near this two block mainstreet is the steepest RR grade on the eastern seaboard, then come see for yourself this charming hamlet in front range of the Blue Ridge Mtns. Plan your visit to include a meal at the Purple Onion. This storefront café has a wonderful outdoor dining area that is covered... More

This is in a neighboring little town, and I don't get there as often as I'd like. True if us went last night, and as always, it was great. Everything from the funky old hardware store vibe to the fabulous tiramisu dessert was wonderful. We had pork chops, swordfish and rib eyes, all cooked to perfection. Friendly, timely and very... Perhaps your use of the word; "Sux" (if you call it that), helps us to understand your age. "OMG!!! This Restaurant is like wicked awesome." I read reviews for Eateries constantly, it's a deciding factor for stoppping, and it never ceases to amaze me how someone always acts like one "bad" experience may be due to someone else having a...
