Clearly the chef is not paying the bills as he won't take orders past 8:30 even when there is at least 10 people waiting to order.

Although a pub, this is one of the best eateries is Merredin. It offers, by far, the best value for money, with it's "light snack" specials that would rival any main meal. You can sit by the bar, or ask for a more private setting in their dinning room.

Not a lot was open and we were therefore unable to get a table at the indoor restaurant. Fortunately it had cooled down a little and the sun had gone down. We sat in the beer-garden and enjoyed our meal.

One night we went there the blackboard out the front said meals until 9pm. We arrrived about 10 past 8 and were told the kitchen was closed as they had been very busy that night and had some big bookings. Even got the barmaid to ask the chef if we could get something....big NO. Went there again this week and... More

When we arrived they were no longer taking orders and the kitchen was closed. We were told that this was because they were too busy and that the kitchen may re-open later. As it was 7.30pm and we were hungry we asked if there was somewhere else that we could go and we were told about the Chinese restaurant and... More

Not a hotel at all, but a colorful spot for a meal and a beer. Fish and chips, burgers, daily specials and other typical Aussie pub fare. Inside the building is beautifully restored with multiple rooms for eating, watching sports, playing pool, etc.

Merriden has a small range of places to eat and since we didn't have the taste for chinese food or pizza the pub was our port of call. We both had a great meal. Salad on the side was freshly prepared. The other half enjoyed the surf and turf while I had the fish. The food was really well prepared.... More
