Delicious food, great service

Three couples, and we chose to dine here after the tourist bureau suggested a few places to dine. This menu was definitely the most interesting. We enjoyed the lamb racks, the steak, the angel hair pasta, the pork belly and the petit fours and small desserts. The restaurant has a lovely... read more

My Wife and I ate here twice last week, Once for a lunch and for a dinner. We were so impressed during our lunch, we made a dinner booking for two days later. All the food we had was magnificent. Service was great. For our dinner meal, we BYO wine. There is a small service charge for BYO wine. However,... More

Had an excellent meal here whilst visiting the Barossa. The bread dipped in Parmesan infused oil was delicious. For mains we choose the tenderloin steak and the lamb rack. Both were excellent and cooked to perfection. We had some roasted kipfler potatoes which were good as well as some steamed vegetables. The broccoli still had a nice bite to it... More

Best food in the Barossa! Great menu and fantastic service. Booking essential. Really worth a visit, even if you miss all the wine farms!

For lunch we decided on "1918" in the heart of Tununda, Barossa Valley. Friendly prompt service in a beautiful garden atmosphere on a lovely sunny day what more could we ask for. The meals were great, my wife had the Lamb Rack and I, the Sazchuan Roast Duck both cooked perfectly and a credit to the chef. Finished with a... More

Went for lunch today with friends visiting from QLD, we had a wonderful lunch. Sat outside beautiful setting but inside was just as beautiful if the weather isn't good enough to be out. We shared the beetroot and vodka cured trout yummmmy! Fresh, flavour-some a great start to a dining experience. For mains I had the duck, my husband and... More

The 1918 in Tanunda is a charming restaurand in a typical old South Australian house and garden, We cannot think of another restaurant that serves meails in such a pleasant understated garden. The food is consistently good- Australian with some Asian fusion dishes. The lambs' brains are excellent and the Szechuan duck was good although only rather remotely related to... More

We had been recommended to try this restaurant, as well as a few others, by the owner of our accommodation. We checked out five restaurants for our evening meal before booking at 1918. Booking was easy, and I am glad we booked because the place was soon full. The restaurant was a converted house (I think) with high ceilings and... More

We haven't dined here in a while but have never had a bad meal here either. We just had a main meal and it was beautiful. I had the barramundi and it was devine. Crispy skin and perfectly cooked on a bed of seafood risotto. Loved every bite. My husband had the grilled chicken with chorizo and it was great... More

Service was good and steak was cooked to perfection. It is BYO which is unusual in a wine area. Would recommend for a special dinner
