We had heard of this lovely restaurant from many travellers in South Australia and are so glad we got to Burra today. Delicious lunch - authentic Roman pizza, Italian wine with service and charm aplenty! Thank you Clare and Paolo for a delightful occasion.

We were a large group, (16 adults and 3 children) went to the Black Sheep for lunch on Saturday and Breakfast on Sunday. Seated at tables covered in white paper with bowls of crayons. Not only did it entertain the children but also the adults. We started with entrée’s. Cold meats, olives, marinated eggplant, semi sundried tomatoes, muscle‘s, Caprese salad... More

We had such a fabulous lunch that we went back again the next day. We even booked before we left and requested the chefs special mussels again, wow! Service was excellent and very friendly atmosphere. A real surprise in a small country town, would highly recommend.

Completely divine, huge pizza for lunch. The best pizza ever to grace my mouth. Exceptional value at $20, way too much for the 2 of us to eat at one sitting. Lovely staff, beautiful decor, delightful food. A hidden treasure.

The decor was minimalist, though wax crayons were provided to draw on the paper table cloths, but the food was wonderful. We had mussels in a tomato broth which was more than enough for two. Served with it was toasted garlic olive oil/garlic bread which was fabulous. Looking at the food ordered by others I will need to go back... More

We'd already decided Burra is a charming town: lovely old stone buildings, wide verandahs, shade trees. We were looking for somewhere to have dinner and happened upon La Pecora Nera. My partner was born in Napoli. Were we going to pass up a meal at a place that looked truly Italian? We wanted only a simple meal and had pizza... More
