Good atmosphere

We ate here as a group in April 2015. The atmosphere of the place is great, very relaxed and chilled out. I particularly liked the self service beer and soft drink fridge. Very cool idea! The food was nice as well. I had a pizza and my partner had pasta. Nice authentic pizza. A bit unfair... read more

We loved the whole thing- our pizza was absolutely delicious and pasta authentic. The place was buzzing and very family friendly. You choose your own bottle of wine from shelves or help yourself to beer from the antique fridges . We loved the record player and record collection- which seemed identical to the one we ditched when we regrettably switched... More

La Pecora Nera is a true gem and Paolo is a wizard. The three of us all agreed that the pizza we had was the best we had ever tasted in our lives. The balance of anchovy and black olive combined with the pastry and oozing cheese. Superb!

We found this place by chance as we looked around Burra for somewhere to eat. Fantastic! Delicious food in a very simple setting. The owners are friendly and obviously care about serving good quality food. Definitely recommend it!

Yes, one of each make for a great experience. Here in the small historic ( well worth a visit) town of Burra you will find The Black Sheep or in Italians terms the Pecora Nera. There is Paolo the chef and his partner Clare, he from Italy she from Australia and together with their team they bring Italy and its... More

We decided to try the local Italian restaurant following a recommendation at the caravan park. Glad that we did because the food was wonderful. What a casual place to eat at, where you can help yourself to the drink fridge, and also see the pizza being created. We didn't have pizza but the pasta and antipasto plate was excellent. Service... Freindly staff, fantastic food, great value for money. The oportunity to draw on the tablecloth... We ordered starters and we could have finished there, there was plenty to eat, we only managed half the pizza but took the rest for our lunch the next day. Would travel to Burra just to dine there. Will defineatly be going back.

Family friendly, great service, flexible menu and great food and drinks. We heard about the place and stayed at Paxton Cottages for a weekend away with a dozen of our family.. We visited Saturday for lunch and again Sunday morning for breakfast. Had a ball and highly recommend you visit.

Great service and meals when we visited mid Jan 15. We had a party of 10. We never waited for anything, choice of food and taste was amazing. Some of the best pizza's I have ever eaten. I am not aware if they do delivery, brunch or have outdoor eating.

We have been going to La Pecora Nera since it opened, back in 2011 and we have always had a great time and a fantastic meal. It can be hard to maintain the excitement week in week out, but Clare and Paolo and their excellent team seem to manage it. The place is still humming; happy faces, laughing families and... More
