Best pizza in the barossa and even in the state. Ring up and order if getting takeaway cos on weekends they can be really busy. Have a dinning room and the deck for eating in. Very generous with toppings

Dingy old eat in with lots of flies and uncomfortable chairs. Expect to clear your own table as waitress staff just wont. Pizzas are OK but we wont be back. Can get just as good if not better locally.

We had been told of the Roaring 40's by our accommodation owner, and that they have won awards for their pizza, plus they made gluten free pizza. My wife is a coeliac and a pizza is the last thing she can eat, so once we heard that they make them gluten free, a visit was planned. The restaurant is not... More

We were sent here by one of the winery reps and it did not disappoint! Cold beer, delicious wine and amazing Pizza! ( and I'm from New York!) Got there a little after seven and had no wait to sit. Lovely waitress took our order and the food was out in no time. Very interesting pizza selections- not your traditional... More

Standard statement regarding this and all my reviews: I have for some time struggled with the Trip Advisor rating system on the basis that it does not provide a particularly granular method or any useful context for restaurant reviews (for example a 5 star review for a burger joint is very different to a 5 star review for a Michelin... We got given one wrong order, staff did great job to replace and get the right order, very well done, even offered some money back which we said to keep as a tip, would go back, good size meals.

This place has won many awards and the food is great. However the service is very slow and we were place in an outer area with fans on an extremely hot day. They need more staff and proper cooling facilities. Having said all this the food was great

We arrived in the Barossa at around 8.30pm and were concerned we wouldn't find anywhere to eat as most places seemed to close very early. Luckily we found the 40's Cafe. Quite an extensive menu for a pizza place in a nice setting (the outdoor area). The staff were very friendly and were happy to serve us even though they... More

We had lunch here and it was really nice and good atmosphere. They advertise best pizza in Oz and it really was a very good pizza. The service was very good and most accomodating. Well done.
