Always great pizza but overpriced

We love 40s pizza (they are pricey though) and we always order it to go. We dined in the restaurant the other week and after ordering chicken schnitzel I was very disappointed - food is good but over priced and now you have to order all sides for your meal. So my schnitzel costed me about $32 with... read more

Food was OK but turned out to be an incredibly expensive lunch for what was essentially pub food. Blue collar taste at white collar price.

We were looking for something easy, cheap & cheerful after a long day, and were pleasantly surprised by the 40s cafe. One 11" gluten free pizza was plenty for my parents, who shared, and agreed it was one of the best pizzas they've ever had (no cheese and plenty of fresh toppings) The menu has plenty on it to choose... Long wait, so noisy, average food and garlic bread is far from being worth $7.50. Girl serving us was nice though and they were apologetic but still wouldn't go back SUPER EXPENSIVE

We were recommended to go here because of the pizza's and we certainly weren't disappointed. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the food was sensational. We ordered the smokey pizza and meat ball pizza. Both were beautiful, fresh and served with produce that you could tell was local. My favourite was the meat ball and my husbands the... More

Today we had a birthday lunch organised here for my wife. We were aprox. 30 in number of friends & family seated out on the deck in the Outlaw bar area. My wife & I made a 2 course meal available for our guests of which they can choose from from the menu. All were served in a timely manner.... More

$77 for two Pizzas and two cokes. Pizzas weren't anything to write home about and there was a 10% Sunday surcharge.

Wife and I went there for lunch. Thank goodness we booked as they turned a couple of people away and others chose to wait until a table came available. Great menu plus specials board. Good sized meals, served hot by friendly young staff. (I admit that I have a problem with a lot of places who leave some orders under... More

We were pointed in the direction of Roaring 40s by staff at Henschke Wines. We had come from Melbourne early that day and were much in need of lunchtime sustenance. We were tempted by several of the pizzas but chose the one with gourmet smallgoods, thinking it would be a good introduction to the flavours of the Barossa. It was... More

We took the family for pizza to Roaring 40s. We booked ahead because it was a long weekend. The interior is casual. You order at the counter and there is a takeaway. The staff were friendly. We ordered a couple of their prize winning pizzas including the Smokey. I would say they were very good but it is hard to... More
