The Views really make it worth It

The Stradbrooke Hotel tries to cover a range of clientele from the self appointed “celebs” seeking a luxury spa experience and ready to pay a couple of grand a week or more to the somewhat more pedestrian types whose focus would seem to be bellying up to the bar and tackling the one armed bandits... read more

Great view and staff but appalling food. Stay away unless you like deep-fried, chips-with-everything meals. The pizza was flabby with old, dried out mushrooms. The prawns on the prawn plate were watery and tasteless. The eye fillet was okay (and it should be for $40!!) but the potatoes that accompanied it were nearly raw. There is no excuse for serving... The hotel looks really inviting from the outside, nice views and contemporary design. Best to stay outside. Poor choice of meals for a pub, burgers are over cooked and the calamari dreadful, unless you like deep fried, stay away. Service in different.

The menu is very unimpressive and totally inflexible. No opportunity for a light lunch, and the prices are on the high side. Beautifully cooked fish, accompanied by floppy chips and a very ordinary salad

Firstly the cuisine is not French. It is Aussie bogan. Think chicken parmies and burgers loaded with fries. Served up by gruff staff who feature an unfortunate tooth to tattoo ratio. One star for the lovely view and another star for the cold beer on tap, unfortunately served at the one and only adjacent bar whose mood is dominated by... More

We visited the hotel for sundowners, and enjoyed the brilliant sunset over the water. We sat on the deck, where a boisterous group of good natured fisherman were enjoying a few ales. There was plenty of activity in the sportsman's bar as they laid bets and watched races live. The dining room was quiter. We didn't stay to eat, but... More

I enjoyed stopping here on my tour of the Island. Had a delicious grilled fish and chips, would highly recommend!

Being on an Island surrounded by sea, the fisherman basket looked like a good option. Well, not so. The small piece of fish came in greasy batter, the rest of the seafood was not much better. The calamari very clearly were not what they tried to be; they were of the reprocessed meat offal variety, and the waitress confirmed that... More

A mid week and off season trip to see friends on Stradbroke Island led to lunch at the Beach Hotel. We had not been here for many years and the new building is as modern and tiled as expected with a wonderful NNW outlook over a clean, almost empty, sunny beach with endless blue sky above. Schools of bait fish... More

I was really concerned reading these reviews before going. I went with family 4a-2c and I guess waited no more than 1/2 for our food. Staff also friendly, quick & fast. Cleared plates etc quick I had the special Fish & Chips & Salad $15.00 It was very nice, fresh cooked and battered by the looks and taste of it.... More
