The Views really make it worth It

The Stradbrooke Hotel tries to cover a range of clientele from the self appointed “celebs” seeking a luxury spa experience and ready to pay a couple of grand a week or more to the somewhat more pedestrian types whose focus would seem to be bellying up to the bar and tackling the one armed bandits... read more

We visited the hotel for sundowners, and enjoyed the brilliant sunset over the water. We sat on the deck, where a boisterous group of good natured fisherman were enjoying a few ales. There was plenty of activity in the sportsman's bar as they laid bets and watched races live. The dining room was quiter. We didn't stay to eat, but... More

I enjoyed stopping here on my tour of the Island. Had a delicious grilled fish and chips, would highly recommend!

Being on an Island surrounded by sea, the fisherman basket looked like a good option. Well, not so. The small piece of fish came in greasy batter, the rest of the seafood was not much better. The calamari very clearly were not what they tried to be; they were of the reprocessed meat offal variety, and the waitress confirmed that... More

A mid week and off season trip to see friends on Stradbroke Island led to lunch at the Beach Hotel. We had not been here for many years and the new building is as modern and tiled as expected with a wonderful NNW outlook over a clean, almost empty, sunny beach with endless blue sky above. Schools of bait fish... More

I was really concerned reading these reviews before going. I went with family 4a-2c and I guess waited no more than 1/2 for our food. Staff also friendly, quick & fast. Cleared plates etc quick I had the special Fish & Chips & Salad $15.00 It was very nice, fresh cooked and battered by the looks and taste of it.... More

Our friends had their reception venue pull out at the last minute. They only arranged this last minute and it was lovely. We had pork belly, seafood, steak, chicken. Attentive staff and beautiful view.

We enjoyed calamari and chips-it was fresh and well cooked. They had a big crowd in however they advised us and we didn't have to wait that long.

Was all it had going for it. Great view. Not busy as we arrived for lunch early to avoid the crowds. Burger sounded great but we were disappointed with stale dry buns and reheated chewy bacon. Caesar salad was all croutons ( or burned toast) topped with an obviously pre cooked straight from the fridge poached egg. All for the... More

I travelled to North Stradbroke with a group of friends in March 2015 and we spent a long lunch at the hotel. The food wasn't anything to rave about - especially as my meal was forgotten about and everyone had almost finished their meals by the time mine was brought over. I ordered the seafood basket and it may as... More
