i just got back from lunch at the grand view. My meal was so bad I feel the need to write my first ever review. I ordered the salmon. It was awful. Completely overlooked . It was like rubber! It came with carrots that were either steamed or boiled like my grandma would have made them......waaaaay too soft. The only... More

I would like to start by saying that the food served was not too bad at all - the problem was with the ordering and the service. We ordered 3 meals - mine was the Atlantic Salmon with veges and Lemon Hollandaise Sauce and my Husband's was one of the specials - steak with bugs and prawns, salad and mushroom... More

My wife and I visited this establishment for an anniversary lunch date. We ordered as usual, got a drink from the bar and sat down. The place was not overly busy as it was early on in the week, our food had not arrived so we had another drink. The steak I ordered was a rather large one so I... More

This is a lovely hotel with lots of charm and reminders of times gone by. The food is really good and the staff friendly and of course a great view.

I can only give this place a poor rating. If one of my family were writing this the review it would have been worse. I was the first to order and it took about 45 minutes to get my meal. I ordered a chicken burger with salad (if you call only lettuce a salad) and beer battered chips which was... More

The grand view has a huge beer garden out the back and it is great place to go for a sunday lunch if you've got kids as there's plenty of room for them to run around. Unfortunately the food is over priced for the quality. We have eaten here a few times over last couple of years and each time... More

Thank you for your review. Yes I agree the spot is fantatsic and we attempt to maintain the quality of QLD's Oldest Hotel to best of our ability. We source fresh seafood daily and purchase quality beef. We apologise that the steak was disappointing and hope on your return you receive the quality I know we have. More

Great place to eat and enjoy a grand view. The seafood basket although a bit exp was worth it with the amount of prawns, bugs, calamari scallops, mussels, oysters, fish and chips. My two friends could not finish it all but gave it a good try. All the sea food was fresh. Not being a lover of sea food I... More

This is a favorite lunch venue for us. The seafood is always fresh and very tasty. Staff are very well organised and on the ball. It was very hot last week and we opted to sit outside in the big marquee.. they could spend a little on some of those fans that spray a nice mist to keep it cool.... More

Food is excellent with a huge choice. My first visit some 4 years ago for lunch , absolutely astounded , ordered bugs , the usual is 4 half bugs and salad, my partner also ordered bugs. When the meal arrived, we each had 9 huge half bugs absolutely fresh , not frozen. This is a family owned and run hotel... More
