Description: Good Winds Seafood & Wine Bar is known as The Hatteras Dining Experience...
Good Winds Seafood & Wine Bar is known as The Hatteras Dining Experience. Each table has a view of the water. The cuisine is superb--with Chef Joel creating new menus seasonally. Food served here is local and fresh. We have the largest beer and wine selection on Hatteras Island. Reservations for large parties are recommended. Live music weekly, daily specials, and open more days than any restaurant on Hatteras Island!

We had to hunt to find this little gem of a restaurant, but it was well worth it. I always surprised at the prices. They seemed a little high, even for OBX standards. But my husband and I shared a Plate of fried, fish, scallops and shrimp. It came with slaw, hush puppies and fries. Overall, a very good meal.

We visited here when they first opened a bunch of years ago and were not impressed. That has all changed. The formerly slow service is now efficient and friendly. The food was always good-but now it's GREAT, and comes out fast. I took a little while to decide what I wanted because there are so many things on the menu... More

This place is all about atmosphere! If you want lunch or dinner while enjoying a great view of the sound, it doesn't get better than this. The food was pretty good, a bit expensive, but the portions were large. They made a martini for me that wasn't on the menu and it was great, I would have liked to try... More

This is an amazing location on the sound in Rodanthe. Kite boarders flying along the water, entertain you while dining. The lunch prices for huge portions of fish and chips or Spinach Salad with crispy mahi bites were a bit high but the scenery softened the blow:) A tiny locale with amazing sites. A scenic, fairly long drive from Nags... More

My advice would be to stick to the appetizers, the entrees are so-so at best. Mahi Mahi bites and calamari were delicious. My salad was drowning in dressing. I'd asked for red wine vinaigrette and got a creamy caesar type dressing with some red wine vinegar mixed it. Not a good combo. Dinner partner's fish was dry and practically inedible.... More

Decent food, friendly service. Brought water foe the dog. Supposed to take dog up outdoor stairs in back but we had already walked inside. They were very nice about it and let us walk through to the deck.

A nice place for lunch or dinner overlooking the water and kite boarders. Sit on huge deck if weather permits. Fish and chips are usually excellent. Dark & Stormies are the perfect choice on a rainy day.

there is a awesome view from the restaurant. We found the hush puppies to be well done and crunchy. My crab did not taste like crab was very bland. my wife was not thrilled with her meal. The reason for 3 stars is the view would of been a 2

During a weeks vacation, we dined at this place twice. Something very unusual for us. We went the second time for the prime rib specia, to which they were out of. It was an hour prior to closing, so hey...Both of our meals were simply great both nights. The service was very good. All in all, yes, we'd go again... More

We went for lunch and got a bacon burger (husband) and fish tacos (me). It was so good and a big helping! The fries were amazing as well. The back deck has a wonderful view of the kite boarders!
