We needed a quick stop for dinner in the ROcky Mount, NC area, on our way down south on Rt 95. We did a Trip Advisor search and found this diner. Sorry, but we are from NY area originally ( spoiled on the normal diners in NYC area). This diner is a small town eatery offering a very limited menu.... More

We visited Rocky Mount recently to attend a wedding. Saturday morning we had breakfast/lunch at the Highway Diner. Our waitress was very helpful and recommended several dishes and when the food arrived all 3 of us loved our choices. The King of the Road (huge chef salad) was delicious!

Go there frequently. Prices are reasonable, food is as close to a NJ diner as I have found in Eastern NC. Staff treats patrons like family. Gets very busy on Sundays, we go almost every Sunday for breakfast. Often grab lunch there. Fried green tomatoes are excellent. If only there were true Kaiser rolls and Taylor ham on the menu.... This diner is next door to Candlewood Suites. Perfect for a quick breakfast before hitting the road again. Prices were definitely reasonable and food was good.

Our hotel recommend this diner which was close by as we did not want to go to far for dinner. Service was fast and friendly. My husband thought the patty melt was just ok, while the fries and onion rings were outstanding. I had the Country Fried Steak with pepper gravy, slaw and sweet potato casserole, all of which was... Traveling through NC, my husband and I had a choice, this diner or Cracker Barrel, so glad we chose the diner! It was packed, but we were able to get a booth, and I can't say enough about our great waitress! She took our drink orders right away, and when we ordered she suggested the hand made chips and advised... More

Stopped in on a Sunday evening. I was told to seat myself and I choose a seat that let me view the TV. It became apparent that my waitress did not know I was there. There were at least 3 other servers that saw me but said nothing. When my server arrived "Lovie" she was very apologetic and even offered... More

We stopped on Sunday afternoon; and readily saw families having their Sunday Dinner out after Church. That was a good indication..economical and fulfilling. Menu is varied and tasteful
