An oasis in the desert

A congenial host and proprietor, David H. Watson, CCM, greeted and seated us last night in his romantic, mellow Coninental Amercan Restaurant, with a twist of Southern Hospitality and flavors on the menu. Went there last night and it is 5:00 the next day and I m still sick. I had the stuffed flounder platter and it was not good. My Cousin had the Lamb n everyone could smell it burning n they had the nerve to still serve them to her hard as a rock. We had waited so long for the... More

Unexpected find on main street of town that featured a varied menu. The photo lined dining area was old time and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. We has a good quality filet of beef with baked potato and a veal shrimp with sauteed spinach. Meals were served with a large fresh made salad. Desserts are available. Meal for... More

My wife and I were looking for an upscale restaurant during our stopover in Roamoke Rapids and found this gem of a restaurant. We met the personable owner who suggested a spinach salad and flounder. It was excellent. Very fresh fish and flavorful. Mine was stuffed with crab and my wife's broiled. Both were excellent as was the spinach salad... More

Quaint downtown eatery with eclectic charming decor. Very attentive and friendly service and a diverse menu with many upscale options. Nightly specials, Friday is seafood. Try the house made blue cheese dressing and save room for one of the decadent desserts. Freshly brewed unsweet tea, crisp and refreshing. We ordered a fish entree and ham entree, both were delicious and... More

We were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on our way home from vacation and asked for a recommendation on a good place to have dinner. They not only told us that David's Restaurant was a great place to eat, they also gave us a coupon for 2 free appetizers or desserts. When we saw good reviews on Trip Advisor... More

Went on a recommendation from the receptionist that checked us in…so glad she told us about it. Great little downtown joint…..awesome staff welcomed us. We had a coupon from the Hilton Garden Inn that got us each an ap or dessert. We began with the soft shell crab ap…..delicious. Then our salads came, and rarely am I blown away by... More

David's restaurant is a true find with great food and exceptional service. What a welcome change from the usual fast food stops we normally make... More

Went with another couple, friends from our neighborhood. They had oysters on the signboard but were sold out. Told the owner that we were disappointed and he said to give him a few minutes to see if he could locate some bivalves. He was successful and we had a great meal with good wine and imported beer. Not a big... More
