Roanoke Rapids is not known as a foodie town, and 98% of the dining establishments in town are either fast food franchises or casual dining franchises. David's is a refreshing change from the franchise routine. Food is fresh, well prepared, and there is always an item or two on the menu that is creative. The atmosphere is cozy and the... More

Passing through stopped for the night. Read the reviews and just knew this was going to be the "local" restaurant we were looking for. Wrong! We went during the week and the food was awful and not fresh. Armature chef at best. Our waitress was nice, we asked for just the one meal to be comped since it was inedible.... More

Very nice restaurant, very clean and nice atmosphere. Food was very good at a decent price. The entertainment was a little too close tour table. Service was above average but not super. Good menu. We will try it again.

My husband and I had the greatest meal. We arrived 10 min before closing and they did not turn us away. I had the freshest most succulent lobster and filet minion. People were very friendly. Appetizer was french onion soup for me snd fried oysters for my husband...the best. If you ard in the Roanoke Rapids area....you must eat at... More

We were delighted by our dinner last night at David's. The service was terrific, and most attentive. The food was delicious, and the menu offered many choices. We highly recommend this charming restaurant.

We were staying just off I 95 and had seen this restaurant reviewed in Trip Advisor. The place is a little "dated" but don't let that put you off! The food is excellent. There is a menu offering many selections and service was very good. There was even entertainment - a great saxophone player who played a wide variety of... More

David's is a little bit from the interstate. But so worth the trip. Our food was so so good. The steak was cooked just right and the shrimp was perfect. I got steamed veggies and the were also steamed wonderfully. The price was in line with most nicer restaurants. We got an appetizer and two main dishes. Price was $41.... More

We went to David's based on general description. As we approached we saw how shabby the main street in Roanoke Rapids was which caused some trepidation but decided to be game anyway. Boy, are we glad we did! We were welcomed by a delightful octogenarian named Mabel, who delighted in her job as hostess and a saxaphonist playing period music... More

Staff friendly and professional and the good was great...I had the Veal w/bearnaise sauce which was cooked and seasoned perfectly..went on a Friday night for the first time to celebrate my Birthday...David's had live entertainment which made the atmosphere romantic, enjoyable, and relaxing..Musician serenaded me with the classic Birthday song playing the Sax, he also played the clarinet during several... My wife noticed upon entering that this is a converted old drug store with the counter and stools still in place from the old soda counter near the entrance. The walls are covered with a wide variety of artwork and memorabilia. The food was pretty good. This is one of very few places nowadays that serve veal scallopini, and it... More
