Bistro atmosphere with high ceilings, lots of hustle and bustle, and a small but creative menu with a fabulous Italian wine list. The ladies loved the Agrodulce cocktails, the men were into the meat and cheese appetizer board (although a little more bread, breadsticks, crackers, would have gone nicely.) We went there because of all the good reviews but we were quite disappointed. They try to be a "hip" place that offers "fine" cuisine. The food is certainly good but it has nothing to do with "fine dining" and it is not at all authentic - this is a VERY American Italian place - far away from real Italian... more

Six of us from out of town went here based on previous recommendations on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. Calamari was great as were the deep fried stuffed olives appetizers. Dinner: veal was awsome, pastas were also excellent. Bar also had some great speciality drinks. more

we live in raleigh and eat at vivace several times a year. the food is good, sometimes great.
