Description: We serve comfort food that celebrates our forefathers’s Mexican roots and the culinary traditions of the local neighborhood. "On the plate, “Mexican-Southern” translates to dishes such as chicharrones and waffles, and shrimp and masa “grits” with Chihuahua cheese. You can expect to see Southern staples such as okra and collard greens done in new ways, too. An emphasis on local sourcing means that even the chiles rellenos on the traditional side of the menu may not always be made with the standard poblanos." Greg Cox, N&O

This wasn't the first time we have eaten at Jose & Sons and it certainly won't be the last! We were looking for somewhere to make a reservation for a larger group, but were a little last minute in making the call. Luckily, they made an extra effort to fit us in! We took both sets of parents here, and... More

When you first walk in you feel the great vibes. You are immediately greeted & seated. The staff is very professional, yet warm, friendly and very accommodating. Then, we your food arrives you are transported to some ultra delicious dimension of Mexican cuisine. Chef Oscar Diaz is a true food artist, making masterpieces on plates. I love this place and... The Chef's picnic for two is amazing! They have fantastic margaritas. I suggest the spicy one! We have been a few times and we are never disappointed! Plus, it is in a great area! It is a great atmosphere for two and a fun place for a big group! The service was good. We be back!

We got together with a group of friends for our monthly dinner out. We failed to make reservations until day of and couldnt get seated until late, our fail, should have known better. We sat at the bar for about an hour prior to getting out table. The bar was great and the keeps were friendly. Only problem was that... More

My wife and I were celebrating a special occasion, which we informed the restaurant of when making the reservation on Open Table. Whatever I expected, they surpassed it multiple times over. From the welcoming comped glasses of Cava and flowers to the impeccable service, J&S was top drawer. Oh, and did I mention that the collard-wrapped tamales and churri &... More

I have tried quite a few items on their menu and have not been disappointed yet. The grilled corn is a must have and the ceviche is one of my all time favorites. The restaurant is very cool and the waitstaff is attentive. I dine here monthly.

To celebrate her new job, my wife and I offered to take our daughter-in-law out to dinner. We let her choose the spot and of course, our son was allowed to tag along. Jose and Sons is a Southern/Mexican fusion resturant in the trendy Warehouse district of downtown. The building was once a Cargo Depot and still has the original... More

Usually you go to a restaurant to hopefully have great food but here we received both exceptional service and delicious authentic Mexican. And an out of this world bloody mary. There was eight of us and everyone enjoyed everything.

Had dinner last night at Jose and Sons. What a delight. Every dish was presented perfectly. We ordered 4 different entrees and everyone at the table thought theirs was best. The guacamole is the best I've had in Raleigh. Will definitely be back!

Unfortunately we had poor service and had a drink and appetizer and left. It took too long for the waitress to come check on us. After taking a drink order it took too long to bring me my beer and report back that she really didn't understand the second drink order, which was a specialty drink in the menu. We... More
