Always a good meal here! The pork shank is outstanding--flavorful and fall-of-the-bone tender with a side of blue cheese grits and sautéed spinach that complement it perfectly. The emphasis on local ingredients means there's usually a special--last night a flash-fried bluefish with a sweet sauce on a bed of risotto with field peas, corn, green beans mixed in--fabulous! Great restaurant. Good variety on offer from a small menu. Local produce used and cooked well. I loved the pork shank with goats cheese smashed potatoes. Try the meat board starter. Wine list was good and I thought not too extravagantly priced. Top of my list for a meal out with friends when I am in Raleigh.

Excellent food, prompt, courteous service and real classy joint! Only complaint: sautéed spinach too salty. Would go here again and again!

Prices at lunch and good choices make this a pleasant experience. Service was prompt and friendly. Restaurant was full, but we could still hear the conversations at our table. Food was delicious.

The food is good and service are good, but uninspired. The atmosphere is a bit stuffy, but the view from the roof is interesting. I prefer J. Betski's next door.

My wife took me to this restaurant on my birthday. The staff was friendly. The service was fine. I was excited when I saw the menu. The variety of southern cuisine seemed to good to be true. I found out the hard way it was. The menu painted a very different light opposed to what I tasted. The food was... More

I visited the restaurant during lunch. They have an excellent staff in addition to having the best meatloaf in town.

Once you step inside you forget that you are in a mini mall type of a building. The brick walls give the restaurant an elegant but yet funky vibe. Our server was great and very knowledgeable with her recommendations. We were a party of 6 and most of had a fish dish. We took our server's recommendation to top our... More

This local neighborhood gem is great for special occasions. A little pricey but worth a splurge. Located in the cute seaboard area.

This is a pretty good restaurant, but don't expect to be blown away. Don't take this as a complaint, because 18 Seaboard is consistently good, but it is not creative enough to get to the next level. For a Raleigh restaurant, it is about as good as it gets, but even Raleigh has more creative culinary offerings.
