The menu is amazing in its simplicity and elegance. Staff is friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. The vibe is electric - everyone is thrilled to be there! The Bibb lettuce salad and chicken entree' are among my favorites As a friend once said of Poole's, "No-one serves food like this in Raleigh" 'Nuff said

Had dinner here based on TA ratings and wasn't disappointed. Vegetarians beware, there isn't much for you here. I created a vegetable plate from the 'sides' menu offerings and it was very good. Based on the eclectic menu offerings I would have expected several vegetarian options, perhaps that will come in the future. The wait staff was very accommodating and... More

Long on my list but tough to get into, Poole's Diner has an unnoticeable exterior but don't let it fool you. Note that we were rod they don't take reservations. You show up around five to get on the list for a seating time. Don't go if you're starving as you will probably have to wait at least an hour... More

My friends and I dined here late one night. They have a full bar and quite a bit of food choices. I had the mac & cheese and chicken. It was very good. The waiters gave great service and the restrooms were also very nice. I will return here if I am ever in the Raleigh area again.

The food and atmosphere was awesome, just don't go in expecting to get a deal for the portion size you're offered.

Visited Poole's over Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful dinner. Opens a 5PM seats at 5:30. Arrive at 5 if you want that fist seating, 20 people waiting at 5. They have inspired cocktails so the half hour wait is no problem. We had entree's of Salmon and Pork Tenderloin and they were both wonderful, The menu changes everyday... More

It was nice to find this little bit of NYC style chic in downtown Raleigh, NC. The mac & cheese is easily the best I've had anywhere. The waitstaff were all to a person, courteous, attentive and professional. It was a bit on the noisy side. It was a friday evening a the place was in full swing. A very... More

My daughter brought me here for my birthday dinner and apparently we lucked out. No line (which I hear seldom happens). It was crowded and I didn't like having the menu on the wall but the food was excellent and the portions generous.

Poole's Diner is one of the 4 restaurants operated by a James Beard Award-winning chef and has excellent food, great variety and good value. Highly recommended for Raleigh. It is more 'fun' atmosphere than quiet or romantic, but is definitely worth the trip.
