Best Mac & Cheese ever

The restaurant from the appearance doesn't look like somewhere I would just go to for a weekend night out to dinner. Inside the restaurant is very tight and having to read the menu off chalk boards though-out the restaurant which is not appealing. I really felt awkward looking over people eating... read more

The food is incredible. Portion size is big. Menu changes often to offer what is fresh from area. The mac & cheese is awesome! Served as an appetizer or side. Restaurant a bit on the loud side but the service is great. The store front isn't much to look at but don;t be deceived. This place is amazing!

I can honestly say that this is the best restaurant that I have ever eaten at. Wonderful fresh food seasoned and presented beautifully. Combinations that I'd never seen that tasted out of this world. Three of us ordered 3 of the wonderful appetizers, 2 from the daily selection of 5 entrees and really pushed the overload with 1 dessert. We... More

so this was the first place we ate in raleigh and it set the bar high. My flight got in very late so we got here around 9:30-10pm and they told us it would be a half an hour wait so we went to the bar. 5 minutes later we were seated at a table. The food was outstanding, as... More

We arrived a little before 5:30 pm on a Sunday and were seated within 20 minutes. We were one of the last in the initial round of seating. I highly recommend getting there when it opens. We ordered a number of different items - macaroni au gratin, latkes, the baguette (which is huge BTW), brussels salad, chicken and mashed potatoes,... More

The hostess was incredibly pleasant - it was Friday night and very busy! Shelly, the GM, did an awesome job ensuring we were comfortable while waiting for our table and checking in on us. The staff has it together. Our waiter let me sample two wines before i found one i liked and he didn't even act bothered, even though... More

I’ve tried a few of the other establishments in Ashley’s empire and was glad to finally go to Poole’s. Went early, 5:15 and was seated at 5:35. Ordered the lettuces and spareribs and shared a Mac ‘n Cheese. The lettuces were light and crispy and perfectly dressed and was a nice counter to the spare ribs which were flavorful and... More

We dined at Poole's on a Wednesday evening for the first time and the restaurant was packed. It is obviously a cash flow gold mine for the owner. Upon our arrival, the hostess took my name and directed us to the glass counter to order a drink prior to dinner. We headed over there and waited 15 minutes until an... More

This was my first time to dine at this restaurant. Friends warned us to go early as they do not take reservations so we did. We were told they don't seat you before 5:30pm so we arrived with another couple at 5:50pm only to be told to wait at the entrance as the third couple joining us was not yet... More
