Fast food with really no place to sit. A place just a place to eat regular ordinary food. Nothing to special about their burgers- def not mouth watering.

My parents and I go to Char Grill every once in a while after church. I'm always very excited to eat an amazing burger. Once you hand in your order, you have to wait quite a while for your food. The burgers are great but your meal isn't worth the wait unless you order a milkshake. The food is amazing... More

Both my boyfriend and I are foodies..and we generally go out at least once when I am there on the weekend. I decided to check out my book..Hamburger America and see if anything was listed in Raleigh. Luck was on my side and Char Grilled was..so we decided to go that weekend. You walk up to the order window and... More

We had to try this legendary burger institution. It is a walk up place and you sit outside. They prepare the food to order and at lunchtime it took less than ten minutes. The cheeseburger is fine not great and not even certain it's all beef. It seemed to have filler and reminded me of high school cafeteria burgers. The... More

It seems like every restaurant has burgers--if there is ever a time when I don't see anything special I like on a menu, I'll order a burger just to get something I know can't be messed up. The Char Grill puts every other burger to shame. I went to the Char Grill for the first time last week, and I've... More

I stopped in here for a quick lunch while in town. The food is very cheap and the burger I got was excellent. Would come here again if I had occasion to.

I don't know if it is the atmosphere, the nastalgia or the 50 year old grease but there is nothing better than a burger from the original Char-Grill. I absolutely love their food. Eating there takes you back to a simpler time, like when you were young and leaving one of the many other establishments that used to be on... More

An true Raleigh Institution. The best hamburger steak sandwich you'll ever find. Form you have to fill out to order might be hard for the dim-witted, but people of even average intelligence figure it out within 30 seconds.

We were at a vintage motocross race nearby and killing some time the day before the flight home. Driving around Raleigh for the first time and looking for a traditional local place. Where they have great local hamburgers and malts, like the old days. Char Grill just looked right and the locals going in said it was one of those... More

First time in Raleigh today. My husband and I were looking for a place to eat close by and after a google search ran across this place. I love the small mom and pop type places so I was more than willing to give this place a try, and I'm glad we did! My husband loved his double burger and... More
