3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2015 NEW

Being spoiled from Texas and having Deep South BBQ smoked and prepared a certain way my whole life I was disappointed by this place. The ribs were fatty and the "dry rub" they use is hardly non existent. Only two selection of sauces which were very vinegary and watered down. The "hush puppies" were very plain with just plain batter... More

Stopped by Ole Time because it was convenient to the airport. We were very pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and great Carolina Style BBQ. I fancied myself a BBQ aficionado but I learned a new trick for sampling sauce. Open a plastic single serving butter cup, add sauce, dip your hush puppy. The chopped pork sandwich with coleslaw and... More

Great tasting Eastern BBQ and hush puppies were delicious. Service was good. Tight quarters inside but food was tasty.

The pulled pork sandwiches were just ok, and the mac and cheese could have been a lot better, but the hush puppies were outstanding - otherwise I would have given it three stars.

So like many people said, the hush puppies are good, especially when they are hot. We had two bbq plates. We both found pieces of bone in our meat, not the end of the world, but a little off putting. The flavor was average. I liked the coleslaw, but it wasn't anything amazing. The mashed potatoes tasted instant and the... More

This place is exactly as the reviews say. Small hole in the wall, great food, and hood service. Nothing fancy, felt like I was in mels diner...with the spunky waitress flo. It was a good time and the price is great. I can see why they are so busy. I am from California and not a fan of the vinegar... More

We are new to the raleigh area and were looking for some good local barbeque. We have eaten at the Pit and it was good, but we wanted more of a local / hole in the wall place. This fit the bill. This is basically a trailer on the side of the road. Seating is limited. There are only about... More

The pork was prepared well and the slaw and potato salad were defiantly home made and quite good. Overall good but not great. Very good value and the service was very fast and friendly. Try the homemade hot sauce. Give it a try if you are in the area.

The barbecue was average, the slaw, too. Yes, the waitress did bring hush puppies, but they weren't approaching warm. The side of chicken and pastry was good. The waitress was maybe tired, seemed like it was a chore to wait on us.

I love BBQ, but don't survey a lot of places. But, I found this place fantastic. Friendly staff. Comfortable atmosphere. Great BBQ. I had the ribs and pulled pork ...and if I was not trying to consciously watch how much I ate, I could have gone on and one. The food was excellent. Even tried some fried chicken, and that... More
