Fresh sushi, friendly wait staff and nice outdoor seating

We shared a few rolls and each was very tasty. They have some different, unique options for their rolls. Their soups are excellent as well. Wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

I turned up my nose when I heard that this place offers Fried sushi but was in for a pleasant surprise. Not only was the unique sushi experience in the south tasty but the service and ambiance of this downtown Raleigh find is truly remarkable. And served with eel sauce, its sushi like you never had! A delightfully unique experience... More

We visited on a weekday night for a birthday celebration. The sushi was BOGO and reasonably priced. It was good and was served fast. The menu had good variety and we had an enjoyable evening.

We were in Raleigh to enjoy the city and came across Sushi Blues. We stopped there for a later/mid afternoon lunch on a Sunday. They have some nice tables outside that are comfortable and a nice environment. The waitress we had was amazing. She knew the menu well, the wine and specialty drinks and had great recommendations. She also told... More

I came here for the first time in 2010. The dining experience was OK but I felt the sushi was not as good as other places in the area; I decided I would not be back. I went again last night with several friends and figured it had been a while and would give it a second try. Our waitress... More

This place was hopping on a Monday night and we lucked out with a table inside. There are two pages of sushi rolls and all but the Nigiri are buy one, get one free. There are jazz records hanging on the walls and the names of the sushi rolls are named after musicians or Wolfpack achievements (74/83 sushi roll refers... More

This was my spot back in the nc state days and also where I had my first roll. Now I'm married with two kids and thought this would be a good spot for lunch while in Raleigh. The rolls were just as good and management has done some nice upgrades. Def a winner and you can't beat the BOGO special.

Tried this restaurant in my search to find the best sushi. I think it was good but have been to others that I find to be in the very good to excellent level.

Recommended by friend who lives locally, we tried this place for early dinner. Hipstar atomosphere in young professional neighborhood near downtown Raleigh ( 10 min away from the convention center ) As the name of the restaurant suggested, Blues and jazz musics are BGM. Not "traditional" Japanese restaurant, but very casual and non-pretentious. Sever was friendly. We took 4 orders... More

I really wanted to love sushi blues but I could not. The prices are outrageous, first of all. Secondly, the chicken that I received had the worst texture I have ever experienced. I feel like the chicken was frozen and thawed and then frozen and thawed again. It was so gross. I had interesting spring rolls with chicken and cheddar... More
