Best restaurant at RDU!

I make it a habit, when time permits and the meal hour is in synch to make this my go to restaurant when flying in or out of RDU. Healthy food, not that I drink but know they have a great beer selection, and the staff while not as cordial or trained as they could be get you in and... read more

Unique atmosphere, basically an open warehouse building turned into a restaurant. Busy place in downtown Raleigh. Good service, good food.

My dad and I went here on a Friday night and it was rocking. We were seated at the bar and the wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The oysters are great and the Bacon wrapped scallops are excellent as well. I would always recommend this restaurant.

The atmosphere at 42nd street is a throwback to earlier days and is a classic capital city sit-down restaurant. I ordered the pan-fried fish and it was excellent. It had a nice crispy crust with no evidence of burning or sticking. Nice and flaky on the inside. Mildly seasoned. Nice. But the salad was lacking. I actually thought it came... More

Apparently, the booming growth of Raleigh NC has impacted what once was one of the stalwarts of quality and reasonable value. 42nd St Oyster Bar is not what I remember often visiting when I used to live in and travel back to Raleigh between 1997 and 2005. The only thing that was actually well done was the complimentary hush puppies!... More

The restaurant downtown was good. The airport location licking. Crab cake burn on the outside and hushpuppies hard. Wine- (Pinto) was fine and waiter friendly. Tightly seated to be excepted for airport. Nothing to wait in line for..

This is the review for the location at RDU airport. I was in a bit of a rush and asked the waiter if they would have breakfast ready for me in 15 minutes. He enthusiastically said yes. The breakfast in fact arrived in 7 minutes. Kudos for that. I ordered the Carolinas omlette, with eggs, lump crabmeat and hollandaise sauce.... More

Went after a day of meetings. Great beer and ale selections... Wine list looked good. We went early but plenty of buzz, and it is a Happening (There Friday) when the band cranks up! Mussels, 42nd Street Oysters, and Fried Shrimp were our choices. No complaints on service or atmosphere... And food was super!
