Belly Up to the Oyster Bar, Ask for Alex W., GREAT TIMES! !

My wife and I started her birthday weekend by having dinner at 42nd and Oyster.... Great food. Devoured CT Bluepoint Oysters $2.50 each, a pail of Chesapeake Oysters $30, seafood bisque $9 (unreal! ! ), king crab legs $15x2, and helped it down with NC Red Oak beer. Our waiter, Alex W., was cool... read more

42nd St Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill is known as a go to place for business meetings in downtown Raleigh. The food is great. My personal favorite is the seafood combo. Yummy. The place can be loud and the wait can be long. But you should go.

We love 42nd Street for its great food and live music on weekends. The food is consistently good and that is the reason it has been around for so long. If you want to have a great time try 42nd Street and see what it has to offer.

I could make a meal from the hush puppies! Every time I've eaten at 42nd Street, the food is always good and seems to be fresh. The cheese potatoes are tasty, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

The downtown Raleigh restaurants are often noisy, busy and crowded but if you are willing to wait nearly two hours, you will enjoy a delicious fresh seafood dinner. When we had dinner at 42nd St recently, the raw oysters were fresh and very good, the fried and broiled dinners came out cooked just right and we enjoyed watching the kitchen... More

With their own fleet of fishing boats 42nd street can always be counted on to serve the best seafood in the triangle. We love going here for special occasions.

They took the Norfolk off the menu, but you can still order it....it is shrimp, scallops, or a combination of the 2. It is sauteed in white-wine, butter, and lemon sauce and it was as good last night as the first time I had it 16 years ago. The daily made mashed potatoes are my favorite side, but the cheese-potato... More

Seafood so fresh, it smells like the breeze off of the ocean. Excellent service and atmosphere. Well worth the price.
