Great breakfast food and atmosphere.... Really unique experience and wonderful menu. Can be a wait but worth the time.

We were directed to Big Ed's by the hotel staff. We were not disappointed. The aroma of sausage, biscuits and maple join with the clink of silver on glass and laughter are the first things that you notice. Next is the crowd. We were able to walk right in but those behind us waited for a few minutes. The wait... More

A must do when in city market in Raleigh. If you want great southern food, this is the place to come. The menu choices were perfect! Something for everyone! The fried chicken , fried pork chops were amazing. The chicken pot pie amazing. There are at least 12 different side dishes to choose from. The pickled beets, collard greens, cole... More

We were having an event across the street from Big Ed's and my hosts took me here for lunch. It's exactly the kind of experience I like to have when traveling, to get a taste, literally and figuratively, of each city. Big Ed's was exactly that. The service was wonderful southern hospitality and the food was comfort food, just like... More

Huge pancakes, tasty bacon and French toast. Fun atmosphere. No kids menu. Almost $8 for one pancake is pretty costly but service was great!

As visitors looking for a good breakfast, The lady in the information booth on the park referred us here and we are so glad she did. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast with good coffee, fast refills and superb food including the biggest hot cake I've ever been served. The menu is extensive and prices are fair. Service was pleasant and... More

Oh no he didn't eat that did he? Nice effort Chris! Sausage was off the chart ~ hearty breakfast doesn't come close to describing the portions. Congrats to the graduate ~ great meal, coffee, friends and family.

I've been going to Big Ed's for years. When you eat here you feel like family. The waitstaff are so friendly. The food is good home cooking. I prefer the breakfast menu. I'm a big guy and have never been able to finish 2 pancakes. They're HUGE! The French toast is delicious. Dusted with powder sugar. The sweet tea lives... More

Great biscuits! Tasty omelets. Great variety of traditional southern cooking - sausage, bacon, grits, etc. not fancy but good cooking.
