Best breakfast!

I got biscuits and gravy here and they were the best I've ever had! The side of fruit was a giant slice of cantaloupe. I also had eggs and bacon. Everything was cooked perfect. The vibe was very old school southern diner. The waitresses were sweethearts.

We walked to Big Ed's from the Marriott. The breakfasts were excellent with good sized portions. The place was very busy but we didn't have to wait very long for a seat and once seated the service was excellent and speedy.

If you want an incredible down-home breakfast, Big Ed's is the place -- lots of strong coffee, country ham biscuits, cinnamon apples, eggs, grits, and of course red-eye gravy. Leave your diet at home and go for a feast.

Well worth visiting. I had a spot of difficulty interpreting the menu because my British English did not stretch to the local lingo. But the "grits" was/were very pleasant: a sort of paste made from ground corn and served with my breakfast of two eggs, sausage, hot cakes (a bit like scones) and, with fresh orange juice (I understood that... Everything off of their menu is delicious, including their fresh biscuits and they are amazingly huge pancakes!

I had been to Big Ed's before - We (five of us) arrived for lunch at 12noon and they were already out of the Pork Chop Special which was very disappointing (our server said they had had a extremely busy morning due to people in town for graduations). I order the brisket and it was not good, nor were the... More

The food here was great. They have hot cakes that cover the entire plate! I would suggest only ordering one as I could only get through half of it. They have a challenge where if you eat 3 hot cakes you get a free t-shirt (someone would have to be extremely hungry to do that, haha!) It was busy but... More

We ate breakfast here the Sunday morning after a friends wedding. When we got there the place was pretty busy. My first thought was that we were going to be there for hours! BUT, it only took a few minutes to clear a table for 10. Immediately after being seated, we had a friendly, smiling waitress who took our drink... More

Had some family visiting in town and we found this place Saturday online to try for Sunday breakfast. Lived here for 4 years and never heard of it before. To my surprise when we arrived, I noticed one of my friends was there having breakfast as well and said he eats there almost every weekend. Upon arrival, they would not... More

From the cheery checkered table cloths to the friendly staff, this place made me feel right at home! Their portions are generous paired with bottomless coffee. Truly "country cookin' at its best"!
