This is a new location for a Raleigh institution. Big Ed's is known for its large portions. Unfortunately, the food is not very good. The plate-size pancake I had was dry. It is no wonder the offer a t-shirt if you can eat three. The over easy egg that I ordered was over cooked. In addition, the hostess who seated... More

Met a friend for breakfast. This is a local place known by many people for its great food, attentive service and wonderful atmosphere. The smoked sausage, eggs and biscuit were tasty and filling and the prices reasonable. Three different servers made sure our coffee cups never hit the half way mark. The place has lots of memorabilia as well as... More

I selected this restaurant as a spot to give out-of-town business colleagues a great breakfast and terrific local flavor. It delivered... Everyone loved the ambience and the food. Unfortunately, the experience was marred at the end when we asked for an itemized receipt. Our server had no idea how to provide one for us. As long as this restaurant had... More

Quick seating, relaxed atmosphere with an antique barn look inside. Very friendly staff. Would recommend the biscuits. Had huge portions at moderate prices. The pancakes are the size of a dinner plate so bring a big appetite. Lots of choices for side dishes. A little hint if you are waiting for your bill. Don't. They give you your receipt when... More

After reading several reviews about this restaurant a friend and I decided to stop in for breakfast on a Monday morning. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and quickly seated at a table. The restaurant has a pleasant Americana vibe without feeling fake like Cracker Barrel. My friend decided to have the farm fresh country breakfast (... More

Literally, the best breakfast in at least 25 years. Perfect eggs over easy, corn beef hash, buttered grits, spiced apples and coffee--all for $10.75. I paid double for the experience. I can't remember getting food hot off the grill with perfect egg yolks--no time for them to even mildly harden around the edges. Don't wonder if you should go, just... More

A must try for all. Great southern food and southern hospitality. Casual. Portions are very large for lunch. A lot of fun for the eyes due to the vast amount of collectibles. Really pleasant experience, will be back next year!

Read the reviews and made it in time for lunch! This is a fun, family friendly place! The specials (see pic) include coffee or tea, bread, meat, 2 sides AND dessert. I chose country steak and was not disappointed! Worth the downtown parking challenges!
