Great Spot for Breakfast!

This is my first choice when deciding on a breakfast place. The staff is always a delight and the food is always good. My favorite is the Nahunta sausage, grits, and eggs. Yummy!

I have a friend who has been a Big Ed's fan since she was a child. I am more of a realist than an optimist and was surprised when the place lived up to all the hype. Everything was great and I'm a new lover of molasses. Please try it if you have not already.

Big Ed's is an institution in downtown Raleigh. Historically, a great place to have a country breakfast. Not a chain and very popular with locals and tourist to Raleigh, North Carolina. Fast and Friendly service from experience staff. Everything is prepared fresh and hot. Plenty of good Hot Coffee, Biscuits and GRITS !!

The monster sized pancakes are cooked to perfection. Biscuits are so flaky and fresh. Super menu choices. Great staff that will not let your coffee cup get half empty

The wait was only a few minutes even though they were very busy. The waitress was excellent and even took time to talk to our boys. The food was delicious!! Best sweet tea and biscuits ever. The price was great. Loved the decor and all the old timey things hanging everywhere. We went out of our way to eat here... More

We did a quick girls trip to Raleigh NC and wanted to eat at and support local business. This place was great! Went for breakfast it was worth the wait. Great service and great food. Only down side was limited parking because we were there when it was really busy.

First I like the location in the old City Market area with cobblestone streets and unique gift shops. On many weekends you will probably find entertainment outside usually a group of musicians who really enjoy playing together. Once inside it will take a while to stop staring at the old antique items hanging from the rafters. The wait staff is... More

I got biscuits and gravy here and they were the best I've ever had! The side of fruit was a giant slice of cantaloupe. I also had eggs and bacon. Everything was cooked perfect. The vibe was very old school southern diner. The waitresses were sweethearts.
