I Underestimated This Place!

Big Ed's is actually really good. Especially for a diner/K&W type of place. They give you sooooo much food for your buck too! It's almost overwhelming if you go here for lunch, but overall everything was pretty good. I was impressed and anytime i'm overly starving, I will come here.

Just returned from a great breakfast at Big Ed's. The pancake is a must-share for the whole table, they are huge! The biscuits and gravy were to die for and the eggs and grits hit the spot. We were very impressed by how quickly they were able to move so many people through the place. We had a little bit... More

Ok... this might be my shortest review! The pancakes - the gravy - OMG! Amazing service! Always expect a wait but its a testament to how awesome this place is.Oh and heads up, just order one pancake... never seen any one that can eat two.

Good country cooking at it's best! The pancakes are made from a pound cake recipe and are the best pancakes I've ever had, anywhere. Nothing fancy and the prices are reasonable for a downtown establishment.

We ate at Big Ed's with friends who loved this place and couldn't wait to share this local favorite restaurant of theirs with us. We were in NC for a visit. The line to eat here extended out the door when we arrived at 10:15 on a Saturday but the wait was only about 20 minutes for a group of... More

Bid Ed's serves country meals, the have a variety of meats other than pork, to eat with breakfast. The food is always fresh and how when served.

We have been there twice and really enjoyed it. If you are looking for a 5 star place this isn't it. This is local food, good and plenty of it. IT IS 5 Star local food!!!!!!!!! What were you looking for, Edwin?

The rating lead me to believe this was going to be out of this world good! Nope.... Very undeserving of such a high rating.

As soon as you enter Big Ed's, you know you're in a down home southern restaurant, beloved by all locals and tourists alike. Unfortunately, we were there for lunch and they are clearly a breakfast place. Being from Seattle, I'm used to more salads and fresh foods - and was told that they "didn't sell many salads, so no, the... More

You can't go wrong at Big Ed's. Big biscuits, ham and red eye gravy. The old-timey place has so much charm. Great cup of coffee with a wonderful breakfast menu. It's nothing special, but it's all really, really simple and good.
