Great place

It's one of our Raleigh go-to breakfast place for out of town guests. Great french toast! Huge pancakes and good meats. Don't let the line to get in scare you away, it moves quickly. My only complaint is their hours (too few).

This place is an enjoyable blast from the past. Southern past that is. The dishes on offer here are the ones with which a Southern grandma would have laid the table. Meat and two veg never had it so good. The pancakes are probably close to 10inches in diameter. The biscuits are delicious. They have gravy for everything. The place... More

We had both breakfast and lunch here today. This is what your mother and grandmother made if you are from the south. Country ham to die for. Eggs just right. Biscuits from heaven. The chuck wagon steak and gravy at lunch was really good. Collard greens and black eyed peas. The service was great at both meals. Wonderful southern memorabilia... More

Big Ed's offered home-cooked flavors in a quaint, comfortable setting. Hefty portions and delicious recipes made this one of the best breakfast meals I've ever had in a restaurant!

Love this place, quirky fun location with friendly staff and great service. Food is wonderful with huge portions and a huge variety. Almost always a line to get in but it is absolutely worth the wait.

My family and I are in Raleigh for my son's graduation from NC State. We wanted to have a sustanial breakfast because we knew we would be skipping lunch since the ceremony started at 1:30. My son suggested Big Ed's. What a wonderful choice. They have everything from fresh fruit to fried catfish. I love sausage gravy and biscuits and... More

Big Ed's is a great find in Downtown Raleigh. Breakfast foods are the specialty from omelets to grits to pancakes and french toast. The atmosphere is similar to a diner as everyone is really friendly and attentive from the hostess to the wait staff. The food is very good as well. I liked how the menu allows for so many... More

This is by far the best breakfast in Raleigh. I have been coming here for the excellent pancakes since I was 3 years old. Big Eds is a Raleigh tradition that shouldn't be missed.

Big Ed's is a great breakfast spot. Good country cooking and great service. All the old artifacts are a plus. Never disappointed.
