Went here for breakfast as the place has been open almost 70 years, so it must be good, right? Well, it was a typical greasy spoon breakfast. The biscuits were cold and the grits were runny. Everything else was okay. What can I say, it filled us up. The service was alright, but the owner kept me waiting in line... More

Finch's Restaurant has been feeding the people of Raleigh and neighboring areas since 1945. I remember going as a kid and parking in the car outside under the cover and having the servers come to you. Your food was served on a tray attached to the front window. That service is long gone but you still get the good down-home... More

While the breakfast and lunch menus are standard diner fare, the atmosphere is comfortable and the staff friendly.

Really loved this place, good service, great food. A lot of choice on the menu, and daily specials which include salmon, crab cakes, hamburger steak. I had the hamburger steak with potatoes and greens. The lady also bought over rolls and cornbread. Would highly recommend. I would have never known about this place without my grandad, but was really worth... More

Split a hot dog and a hamburger with my husband. Dog was red but good, cheeseburger was 6 oz, hand pattied and delicious. Chili on both was spicy, a surprise, but fantastic! Waitress brought us 2 onion rings that were hand cut and fried and were the best I've ever eaten. Meat and three with "real" mashed potatoes, so we'll... More

I ate here because I was at a training course up the street and didn't have much time for lunch and I'm not into chain fast food. Plus there is a geocache (that I didn't find). This kind of place is standard for rural NC, but maybe a novelty in the big city. They put sugar in the greens and... More

Gas station coffee that had been sitting for hours would have been better than theirs. I took one sip and could not drink anymore. My boyfriend's coffee cup had pink lipstick stains on it which halted him from drinking anymore. His omelet was runny. I had a side of grits and hash browns to eat since there were no other... More

I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but if you're in the neighborhood it's a cool old diner.... My husband didn't care for the sausage... He said it was too spicy My eggs were delicious but it's hard to mess up poached eggs :)

I hadn't been to this place since 1996- It is still a great place for breakfast, no frills, but outstanding food, service and price!! Try the homemade grits and you will understand what the big deal is about!!

Typical greasy spoon diner. The food is decent, but just not my cup of tea. I had the baked chicken, which was quite tasty but the plastic plates, drafty room, and terrible decor just reminds me of the school lunchroom.
