Decor, staff and service better than the food.

I've been here a number of times, most recently, hosting a large birthday party. The staff could not be more accommodating and pleasant. I recommend going early and having cocktails either upstairs or downstairs in the "gun room". Both are wonderful and they also have free appetizers. I prefer... read more

From the great ambience, to the outstanding waiter to the delicious food, this is a place that makes memories. We had a college graduation table of 10, and everyone loved their food and we all enjoyed ourselves. No rushing, a wandering magician came by during appetizers, and we were there for several hours eating, drinking and laughing. The bill for... More

Met an old friend for dinner and a cigar. The staff, from top to bottom, was friendly and engaging, as they went out of their way to make us feel like welcome guests. Had a fine, if overpriced, cigar in the meat locker with a cocktail, then had dinner. The meal service was impeccable, our waiter Michael held the perfect... More

This place was big, I mean really big. Large restaurant with a cigar bar (may not be there any longer). You could eat, then go purchase and smoke a very fine cigar. The steaks here were amazing. Quite expensive but very good quality meat. Unbelievable stuffed mushrooms. I think I could get a vegan to eat the steak from this... More

Food and service are top-notch, but also very expensive. The Angus Barn is a great choice for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries, but save it as a treat for a night when you're not on a budget.

Having grown up in Raleigh, I have dined at the Angus Barn more times than I count. I've been there on dates, family meals, special occasions and business dinners. Last June, our daughter was married by the lake and her reception was held at The Pavilion. The Angus Barn team made this a memorable and very special occasion. From the... More

My company took our team out as a treat after a week of training, and this was a really tasty reward. First of all, I really liked the atmosphere. Very "rustic fancy". The table shared a platter of appetizers that had huge, buttery crab claws (among other things). I had the prime rib, which was melt-in-your-mouth amazing. The sides were... More

The delicious cheese spreads and crackers served to every table is the best way to start your dinner. Love the quaint atmosphere! (The bathroom is a sight to visit too)! You simply cannot get a bad meal served here! The best.

The place to go in Raleigh for special occasions. We have visited dozens of times over the past 30 years and always enjoy the experience. When it is just my wife and myself, we pass on the dining area and head for the Wild Turkey Lounge where we can still get most of the full menu. You can make a... More

The food was amazing. Cooked to perfection. Never had a steak that tasted that good. The restaurant was beautiful and very interesting to walk through. Took a tour of the beautiful wine cellar, was quite impressive. The best part of the restaurant was the employees. Our server, Maggie, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and provided the best care. Helaina and Christina... More
