The Hayes Barton Cafe is one of my favorites. We found totally by accident when walking in the Five Points neighborhood one evening. I spotted the dessert cabinet and drawn inside. The food is delicious, we've never been disappointed. But do not leave without dessert. The cakes, pies, and tarts are all amazing. They only take reservations for more than... More

We didn't eat here because they don't really have any vegetarian entrees and the hours are sporadic, but we HAD to go for the cake. We got one slice of the Coconut and one slice of the Chocolate Fudge Heath Bar Crunch. I was a bit shocked at the $18.00 bill but OMG!!!! They were both worth every penny! Each... More

Dined here tonight with wife, daughter and son-in-law. Very good atmosphere. Walls are covered with people from the WWII era and pictures of movie stars from the 40's. The food came in large portions and was delicious. We had to wait about 40 minutes, as they don't take reservations. By day the front part of the building is a pharmacy.... More

Went there for supper with some friends. Very nice atmosphere, lots of old photo's, very noisy. I ordered the chicken Pot Pie, which was mostly mashed potatoes, with some chicken and vegetables on top. It was also a bit dry. I ordered the Coconut Cake, which they are known for and didn't care for it too much, it was rather... More

Went for the first time tonight with my hubbie and daughter and we were very impressed with the quality of food and service. I read about the mussel app and the waitress also told us how great they were and it did not disappoint. Those mussels were some of the best I have had for has, perfectly cooked and the... More

We have been to HB many times in the past two years and have never been disappointed. Beginning with Frank's greeting at the door the excellent service and food are always fabulous. The shrimp scampi, turkey pot pie, grouper, meatloaf are all just incredible. I can't say enough about the servers...they are excellent. And the desserts...nothing compares to the coconut... More

I have been to this restaurant several times over the years. Their desserts are huge and delicious! Their entrees are amazingly good, too. On Valentine's Day we had scallops, salad, and filet - all fantastic. The space is small, so I recommend a reservation for parties of more than two and on holidays. The atmosphere pays homage to the 1950's/1960's... More

The inside decor was stunning and reflected their service to our nation --WWII vets. The music will transport you to the days of Bobbie socks and hush puppies shoes --Tom McCanns shoes. The service was great, the staff attentive, and nice. Many pictures of WWII vets, their brides, and model planes e.g. P51 Mustang, F4U Corsair, and a B17 hanging... More

I've never had anything here that wasn't excellent here and the desserts are awesome. What makes this place is the combination of food, service and atmosphere that makes it such a wonderful dining experience. It is cozy and very busy on the weekends, so be prepared to wait. Sitting around the bar is a great experience. The mussels are awesome... More
