While the menu is limited, those who enjoy these type environments will appreciate Bloomsbury. If you want pages of menu selections go to the chains, they will be better suited for you. The bar is nice and small, the cocktails and wine good.

I would have a difficult time returning due to the menu selection--there was one beef choice, one chicken, one fish, one lamb. I was in the mood for seafood, but the monkfish wasn't something I wanted to try for the first time at this restaurant. So I ordered the chicken dish and was pleasantly surprised how moist and delicious it... More

A perfectly nice dinner and one that compares favorably with any I have had anywhere in the world. Full of regulars, obviously because of its excellent price/value relationship, high quality, and no-nonsense approach, Very suitable for romantic or business occasions as it is quiet and relatively formal. They do not require formal clothing but the room (moldings, white linen) would... More

By the location you could be easily fooled on the quality of your meal but that is certainly misleading. Great staff who are extremely welcoming and do their best to take care of you. Food is superb and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My only concern is that the food does take a little long to... More

Friends invited us to join them in a restaurant totally new to us, the Bloomsbury Bistro in Raleigh. Not being a huge meat-eating fan, I opted for the Catfish, not fried as is mostly done in the south, but in a wonderful broth. Absolutely superb! The restaurant itself is charming with lovely murals on the walls. The service was very... More

I have had the pleasure of dining at Bloomsbury Bistro on numerous occasions over the past few years. The menu changes regularly in order to allow the chef to use fresh, seasonal ingredients. Regardless of the season and what I have selected, I have always found the food to be inventive and delicious. I finally had the opportunity to take... More

Mr. Toler always has great Food to eat. I don't frequent enough but I always try something new and it always really good. Also I forget it is a great place to have a drink and smaller plate or burger if you don't want a three course meal. If you are entertaining clients, family or a date this is your... More

While this is a good place for a special occasion, it is still affordable enough for a great meal in general. The choices are limited, as they change their menu every 8 weeks and choose local ingredients when possible. However between the appetizers and entrees, there is a lot of variety to please most everyone. Ambience is very nice, it... More

I've driven by this restaurant twice a day for 20 years. I didn't know that they existed until friends suggested that we go. Boy was I missing a treat. Chef John is amazing. The service was top notch. The beer selection is better than most fine dining establishments. My only complaint is there was nothing darker than a pale ale.... More
