The restaurant was conveniently located to our hotel. The dining area was a nice quiet setting. Service was very helpful with selections explanations and friendly conversation. The seasonal menu changes every 12 weeks which makes it nice to have fresh ingredients. Food and combinations were unique with a simple and small but broad-based menu. They accommodated dietary restrictions without any... More

We have been dining here for over fifteen years and it is still Raleigh's best fine dining restaurant.

dined with friends at BB and had an assortment of goodies from their new menu. they change the menu frequently and sometimes it is on the wild side for me but last night was just right. chicken cordon bleu prepared to melt in your mouth perfection. but topping that was the potatoes au-gratin that accompanied it. buttery, savory and not... Had b'd dinner with husband and friend. Bloomsbury is a favorite and it was as good as ever tonite. Food us imaginative, fresh, and well-presented. Had the "no bread" BLT - a summer salad. Had an appetizer as entree - lump craving phyllo on a corn chowder. Husband had sea bass - said it was one of the best he... More

I've been forgetting to write this review, but was with friends last night who had been to the Birthday dinner and they were still raving about the food and the service. They are not the only ones who have made a point to let us know they were impressed by how well the evening was handled. First of all, the... More

OMG - My wife and I are "foodies" (in the best sense possible) and we were blown away by Bloomsbury's ambience, service and food. We both said the same thing almost simultaneously, and to the maitre d' as well - "no pressing need now to drive an hour and a half each way to Chef and the Farmer when we... More

Chef John Toler is a wonderful cook. Classically trained with a great imagination. Perfect place for a special dinner with that certain someone. Not cheap, but reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

There were four of us in our party, and each of us ordered a different dish. Mine was the veal shank. It was very good but not the absolute best that I've ever had...as someone else noted, "nothing special." Everyone in our party enjoyed their entree but overall, we didn't feel Bloomsbury is worth the $. Our server was wonderful,... More

My wife & I went to Bloomsbury Bistro with high expectations - perhaps too high. The room is gorgeous, quiet, and the atmosphere "feels" expensive. The service was excellent - crisp, friendly, and helpful. The wine list isn't super long, but it's reasonable and fairly priced. The food was the let-down - pretty undistinguished. I began with a shrimp dumpling,... More

This is our fav restaurant in the Raleigh/Durham area! No matter what you order it is a party for your mouth!! The service is always outstanding. It is on the expensive side but it is so unique, we think it is worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!
