Description: Ask any Italian-American what ‘gravy’ is, and they'll tell you it's the pasta sauce that their mothers and grandmothers cooked fresh every night. At Gravy Restaurant we take the same care, preparing our signature sauce every day using select tomatoes and locally grown herbs. The heart and soul poured into the preparation of traditional Italian-American dishes pairs with inspired modern twists and a focus on seasonal ingredients to define Gravy’s unique approach to this classic cuisine.

We were in downtown Raleigh on a Friday night - busy time. Gravy had tables available so we jumped on it. Service was prompt. My husband started with a Caesar salad which had a suitable amount of garlic in the dressing and good homemade croutons. For the main course I had the Eggplant Rollatini and my husband had the Chicken... More

Did not have a chance to eat here at night, but the lunch menu was fantastic. Service excellent as was the presentation and taste. We had a peach/bacon salad that is the best I have ever had, and a chicken mozzarella sandwich with a tomato dressing that could be bottled and sold on its own. Imaginative mixture of ingredients and... More

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday. Nice atmosphere and the place was busy. Ordered the eggplant, which is risky, because so many places don't do a good job with it. Happy to say that it was great. The eggplant was the right thickness and not drowned in sauce or cheese. Very tasty and light.

We made a Saturday night reservation for Gravy. We parked in the parking garage next to Gravy. It was free to park. Our table was ready when we arrived. It was pretty busy. We had the best waitress. I wish I remembered her name. We ordered the Risotto balls as an app. They were amazing! I was disappointed with the... More

We met friends here and had a wonderful experience! We ordered the Eggplant Rollatini as an appetizer to share. For three out of four of us not being egg plant lovers, we ALL loved every bite--a must try! The garlic knots are soft and flavorful. The arugula salad was fresh with a perfect amount of lemon vinaigrette dressing that was... More

Fresh mozzarella, all local ingredients, creative, friendly and efficient staff, pleasant and appealing atmosphere. This is also a beer lovers stop, with a zillion local offerings available. Really loved our pasta and salads. Only problem is with portion size, I should not have to leave hungry or ask for more bread, especially the fantastic bread they have here.

We went to Gravy with another couple for the first time. Wait staff was professional and service was timely. The food had wonderful flavor and the garlic knots are to die for. The portions are plentiful. My husband and I each had a salad and split an entree and we were both full. Be sure to make reservations as they... More

We invited my wife's cousin and his wife. Food was good and we all had a nice evening. I have to agree with one review is that it is loud. We were new to the area, so we have many new options to choose from, but we would likely return to Gravy at sometime in the future.

What I liked most about this restaurant is that their food was not only outstanding, but not pretentious! A lot of restaurant try to overwhelm diners with too much "fancy" stuff, but there was just the right amount of entrees on the menu and it was authentic Italian! We stayed in Raleigh, NC to be with our daughter for the... More

I thought the meal was good not outstanding just good. The only complaint I would have is the noise it is very loud and that maybe the building but it was hard to even hear across the table.
