Ask any Italian-American what ‘gravy’ is, and they'll tell you it's the pasta sauce that their mothers and grandmothers cooked fresh every night. At Gravy Restaurant we take the same care, preparing our signature sauce every day using select tomatoes and locally grown herbs. The heart and soul poured into the preparation of traditional Italian-American dishes pairs with inspired modern twists and a focus on seasonal ingredients to define Gravy’s unique approach to this classic cuisine.

Good food, good drinks, good restaurant!

There were four of us, and all of us enjoyed our meals. I had the bone marrow appetizer which is hard to find in Raleigh, despite its "popularity" at higher end restaurants in big cities for quite a while now. Have enjoyed dining at Gravy several times, but recently had a wedding / reception dinner at Gravy for a small crowd of 30 people. The contact person for helping plan everything was Amy and she was so great to work with and very helpful. The night of the event the food was great, all of our guests loved it and... More

My wife and I had been to Gravy 5-6 times in the past and loved it every time - we often brought out of town guests here for a great meal! We dined here this past weekend with friends and were severely disappointed. I feel like there has been a chef change..the 'Family Dinner' - which was always our go-to... More

I came to Gravy to try something new downtown Raleigh. The food ideas are not that creative, my portion at brunch was tiny, i had shrimp and grits. Nothing really impressed me there.

Every so often you'll eat a meal that's so amazing, you never want to get full. That's what happened to me at this restaurant. I had no idea what it was when my husband made the reservation, and with a name like "Gravy," I was expecting something like Southern homecooking. I was surprised to discover an Italian restaurant, but I... More

This was our New Year's Eve dinner, and our friends selected this place.again It was our second time to visit. The service was exceptional, and the food was good, classic, Italian fare. I had the Lasagna which was very good. One friend got the beef ribs which looked tempting; I was a little envious that I didn't try them. I'm... More

We enjoyed a great family outing at Gravy and just loved it. Our daughter had lived in Italy for a while, and she found it to be very authentic. The food, ambiance, wine and service were all great. The price tag for 4 adults was about $125 with tip though. Not some place we can afford to go often, but... More

This is a cute restaurant and I did not dislike my food, but I would not put this place on my list of good Italian restaurants. This is mainly because I relocated to Raleigh from the NY area where exceptional Italian food is found on every corner. A lot of people really enjoy this restaurant so don't shy away from... More

This is a well priced Italian place in the center of Raleigh. We enjoyed Gravy. The "gravy" is very good; not watery or too "tomatoey." FYI: I'm Italian, so I'm a tough critic of Italian food. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. The chicken was cooked well in the middle, but a little tough around the edges. The "breading" could improve,... More
