Description: Ask any Italian-American what ‘gravy’ is, and they'll tell you it's the pasta sauce that their mothers and grandmothers cooked fresh every night. At Gravy Restaurant we take the same care, preparing our signature sauce every day using select tomatoes and locally grown herbs. The heart and soul poured into the preparation of traditional Italian-American dishes pairs with inspired modern twists and a focus on seasonal ingredients to define Gravy’s unique approach to this classic cuisine.

The food and the service is amazing at Gravy. It's a nice-sized restaurant...not too big or small...and there's great attention to detail with the food. I would definitely recommend it when visiting downtown. I had the ravioli and it was amazing. Everything is very fresh.

Both myself and friend enjoyed the chicken parm over spagetti. we both thought the parm was great but the marinara sauce was rather thin. Would go back again.

the wife and I stopped in for a quick dinner. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly. I ordered the Family Gravy and wife ordered the Gnocchi, it was great. The meatballs and sausage were fresh as well as the pasta. This is a great little Italian restaurant in downtown, you can't beat it.

My husband and I have begun exploring the new restaurants in downtown Raleigh -- and Gravy tops our list of favorites. The cafe is small and intimate with pleasant service and soft music (a few NC native James Taylor tunes set a great mood for our lunch). The lunch menu had something for everyone. My husband loved his gnocchi--a generous helping... More

Visited with my wife on a Saturday night. Booked reservation through Opentable, but didn't seem that busy for 6:30 on a Saturday. The calamari was fresh and prepared well. The bolonese was not very flavorful. The dessert made up for the meal - tiramisu was good. Overall I would not return, except maybe for dessert. However, service was great.

I visited two days in a row--Christmas Eve and the day before. Service was really great (friendly and well orchestrated) both times. Although the food was quite good, and seemed very reasonably priced, it lacked a certain pizzazz. A fish special was much better than the Italian classics. The classics were tasty, but somewhat bland. Tiramisu was quite good. If... More

Read some reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to try Gravy in downtown Raleigh. We didn't have reservations, however the wait was about 10 minutes on a Friday, so we started at the bar with a drink. Love the atmosphere and decor, a modern downtown style! The service was superb! And the food was excellent! My daughter had the Chicken... More

Went to Gravy for my birthday and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The Italian cuisine was excellent. And service was great. The red sauce (gravy) is superb.

My wife and I walked into Gravy without a reservation, as we had gone to another local restaurant but walked out due to in issue with the server. This was about 7:00 pm. They squeezed us in and gave us a Primo table overlooking the street. Our server was immediately at the table and brought us our wine. We ordered... More
