Ask any Italian-American what ‘gravy’ is, and they'll tell you it's the pasta sauce that their mothers and grandmothers cooked fresh every night. At Gravy Restaurant we take the same care, preparing our signature sauce every day using select tomatoes and locally grown herbs. The heart and soul poured into the preparation of traditional Italian-American dishes pairs with inspired modern twists and a focus on seasonal ingredients to define Gravy’s unique approach to this classic cuisine.

Spaghetti night

Had dinner there on a Sunday night; spaghetti and meatballs. It was fantastic, would have liked to had seconds. Being from out of town it was nice to see a downtown like Raleigh with great dining options like Gravy. I will make every attempt to visit next time I am in town.

My wife and I went for her birthday dinner after seeing Gravy's catering at a wedding. My wife had the egg plant parmesan and I had the NC Hot Bowl (seafood dish). We had, for starters, the baked egg and risotto balls. For dessert, we had a chocolate torte and an apple cake. Every single item was awesome. We are... More

Definitely a great Italian restaurant to check out in downtown Raleigh. They don't always have the "Farm Egg" on the menu, but if they do it's amazing! The garlic knots are always quite tasty and the gravy is amazing.

Gravy is the Italian restaurant in the Empire Eats family and is absolutely fantastic. The staff is always great and the food even better. The style is Italian-American (so don't expect it to be perfectly authentic Italian) and many of the pastas are handmade. I have been to Gravy many times, including for a private event, and they have always... More

I went to Gravy with a co worker during Raleigh restaurant week and the service was great. I did not get the full menu of items that was available for the special but the appetizer was great. The wine was great. The atmosphere is small and quaint ... I will be going back.

This is my favorite place in Downtown Raleigh! The food is all fresh, local and delicious. Our service is always great and we recommend to everyone who asks where they should go downtown.

Had an excellent first time dinner at Gravy in Raleigh. My wife and I had dinner before heading to the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Gravy has a small menu, but one with a number of good pasta and meat choices. I took the waitress's recommendation and had the House-Made Potato Gnocchi. It was excellent. My wife had... More

Had a fabulous meal & excellent service. Started off with a cheese board and then shared 2 delicious entrées - chicken parmigiana & "family gravy" ! Topped off a fantastic evening with a "Deconstructed pecan pie" - pure heaven !!!!!! We will definitely visit again 👍👏

Recently had the pleasure of eating lunch here, along with many co-workers. It was our annual end-of-year holiday gathering, and we had rented a dining room separate from the main public space. The lasagna and chicken parm were both excellent, as were the kale salad and garlic rolls. The servers were excellent also. Only drawback was that the dining area... More

We were there last Sunday. Our evening started out quite well. Our drinks were brought right out. Our salads were also good. I had the kale Cesar and my husband had the green salad. The lasagna was good, not great. My husband's eggplant pie was burned around the edges, which gave the whole dish a burnt taste. Our waitress never... More
